2 stand out with me..
1/ after a kid was being a royal pain in the butt i gave him a rap across the knuckles with a strip of plastic. to which he replied... AH... SICK...
he meant to say hurt... cracked me up for ages
2/ to a student sweeping the floor of a classroom - what are you doing? 'i'm cleaning' he says.. then i ask what is that you are using (twas a broom)? he hesitated for ages.. then he spat out.. 'a cleaner'
cracked me up.. he was definately inventive |

Some of my Kingergarten kids have got it in their head that "angry" is a noun.
So the the conversation goes like this:
Kid1: "Teacher, me is a 2 angry."
Me: "Why do you have 2 angry?"
Kid: "Kid2 is a hit to me."
Me: "Kid2, don't hit people. Say sorry."
Kid2: "Me is a sorry, Kid1."
Kid1: "Its ok. Teacher, me is a 1 angry."
Me: "Ok, why are you still angry?"
Kid1: "Mr. Kim teacher is a say no play the soccer."
Me: "Well, we can play soccer after lunch."
Kid1: "Ok. Me is a no angry." |

some of my kids are studying for a toeic test, one part of the test involves listening to a tape and writing down what they hear, so i push play and
"can i borrow your tennis racquet"
i had a look at the kids tests and one girl word for word had written down
can i blow you
i started laughing, and she just gave me this really innocent look which made me laugh even more. too funny! |

This was in Japan but the word for is nabi in Japanese and has the same origin. It's a pot for cooking stew and so on.
I asked my students to write up their schedule for last week and one of them wrote
"I had pot on Wednesday" |

That's exactly why I give lessons in "I went to the shore." |

a middle school girl asked me if I "liked pu$hy?"
what I eventually figured out was that she was asking if I "liked Bushy." |

Every Korean kid would blast a װ!! if anyone touched their belongings, and I gave them the English equivalent 'that's mine'. So it's this combination phrase going round the school: "my-ko! my-ko!" and "me-ko! me-ko!"
