The new rule changes are a step in the right direction..but I'll hold off congratulating immigration until the changes have truly been put into practice. It's still a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing when it comes to Kimmi.

So, if I'm just extending my contract in the spring, then I only need a nationwide police check, right? My local police check actually said right on it that it is not a nationwide check, so I'll have to apply for one through the RCMP. Have any Canadians had this done recently? I know you have to go to a police station and ask for fingerprints, but it says on the RCMP website that it can take up to 120days on average to get your results. 120days!!?! Is this accurate?

I'm British. Because I came into the country a week or two before my job started I have to go through the degree verification palavar for a 2 week extension.

KCUE say they don't accept applications from individuals. Is it right that I can get a copy apostilled? (I fear the original ending up with some awful stamp all over it). Rolling Eyes

If you can do it with an apostille, then by all means do that. Koreans won't think twice about how they treat your documents. If you give them your original diploma, be aware that it might come back folded, with a stamp or signature on it, with a coffee or juice stain on it, ripped, or stapled to another paper. If you can't replace your diploma (as it is with many universities) then be aware of the risks.

Koreans can get multiple copies of their diplomas as well as other documents. They assume that we can also. Plus, most just don't care.
