|
|
About once or twice a year, I have seen advertisements for English Instructor jobs for with the two big airlines: Korean Air and Asiana. I already knew that they were pretty selective and now it seems like they are even more selective. Now it seems like they won't hire men at all for these positions (not only the flight attendant training jobs but also pilots and general staff).
I am very passionate about the airline industry and I would really like to begin a career working with a Korean airline. Can anyone who is currently working or has formally worked with a Korean airline give me some tips on how I can get a job with one of the airlines?
Thanks |

Let me disclose up front that I have absolutely no experience working for an airline, nor do I know anyone who has.
But if I wanted a position with an airline, I would start by searching for these job advertisements that you have seen in the past. Then I would send my amazing resume and a well-written cover letter expressing my interest off to the email address on the job listing, and follow up a few days later with a brief and extremely polite phone call. If the person expressed no interest in offering me a job, I would be sure to ask if he or she knew where I could find any other hiring opportunities in the airline industry.
Good luck! |

If you are a man, just accept the fact that they won't hire you. Don't feel bad. Don't let it affect you self worth.
A lot of adult teaching jobs want nothing to do with male teachers. This is due to past bad experiences and what they have seen/read in the media.
Besides, while other countries take multi-lingual, qualified candidates and train them to be flight attendants, Korean airline companies take bimbos off the street, and first train them to be half-way competent, and then push them through flight attendant qualification courses.
You'd be teaching a bunch of sky waitresses who are beyond the age where they could realistically improve their English significantly. Pure frustration. |
