Not sure how to interpret this but man it's got me sort of wondering what they could possibly mean:

Quote:
Education is considered a very intimate relationship. According to an unofficial survey by the Prime Ministers Office, the majority of parents wanted solid evidence of their childrens teachers HIV status, said an official of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
Korea Times Link Above

"Intimate" in this case is just inappropriate and misleading. I honestly do wonder if the parents understand in the literature that HIV problems of "intimacy" refers to sexual intimacy.

Everyone knows that E6 "Entertainer" visas are often used for human trafficking to bring foreign prostitutes into Korea. So now they're not going to make the hookers take HIV tests anymore, but they're still going to make the English teachers take them? Brilliant.

Quote:
Weve decided to ease the rules as HIV is not transmitted through air or water but through human contact most of the time, ministry official Jeong Eun-gyeong said, explaining the reason behind the revision.

Is this news to the Korean government?

Most of the time? He must mean, when the fan isn't turned on.

Ignorance about contracting HIV doesn't suprise me one bit but I also suspect that another concern is the amount of sex between teachers and Koreans specifically foreign men and korean women.

Of course they don't realize that a teacher caln be HIV negative when tested on arrival, go to Thailand, Cambo or where ever on holiday bang a hooker and come back with it. and he's not tested again if he is at the same school.

The military tests once a month I heard as well so for all the military bashers on here a korean girl, in theory, is better off with one of them than a teacher who is only tested once.

The same can be said about Korean men on 'business trips' or 'playing golf' in the Philippines. If you believe what you hear, these fellas don't even like to use condoms...

Just follow the Jacob Zuma rules and take a shower after sex, every time.

I vote than workers at hagwons can be classified entertainers and thus miss the test. Very Happy
