I recently had an issue with my HP laptop which I bought in Australia. The issue seems rather serious as I have searched the web at school and it looks like it might be the motherboard or the hard drive. I scanned everything I could scan and it came back as fine. The real issue is that I don't have a recovery disc, (no idea why, but maye it is how they sell them now?). The issue I have is the laptop doesn't load into windows, the scrren goes black and a black cursor fllickers in the top left corner. So, what i need to know, is where can I get it fixed?, and will they accept an Australian HP warranty?, I have a two year warranty on my laptop?. I know they have a Korean HP repair shop in Sinyongan, will they work on an Australian laptop?

thanks in advance

I brought in a US HP laptop and I didn't pay for the estimate. The cost was more than I wanted to spend. There's another repair shop downstairs however that can do the same repairs for less.

Had a problem with an HP laptop in the past, but the warranty was good only in the US. I couldn't get the motherboard replaced for free in Korea even though I could have in the States. HP is an international company, but not it's warranty. Anyway, I got it fixed in a small shop somewhere in Gangnam and it was something like 40% cheaper than the quote I got from HP in Seoul.

Thanks for the tips, it is my first time taking in a computer to be repaired and so I want it to be somewhere I can trust. Did the places you mention do a good job?

I have nothing to complain about their work. I don't remember exactly where in Gangnam they are located, though, but if you need to know, then let me know and I'll look for their address/phone number, but you'll need a Korean with you, unless you're fluent in Korean.

Could you tell me directions to the Kangnam location. I would be taking the subway. Thanks!
