I justed wanted to let you all know about a positve experience I had with a CHEAP air freight company. I had a bunch of my stuff (5 20kg boxes) sent over from the US to Korea. Since USPS doesn't offer surface freight shipping anymore, I had to resort to air freight. I used a company called ShipNex (no I am not a spokesman)
What they do is purchase bulk space on DHL/FedEx and UPS airplanes. When the airplanes fly with left over space they put your stuff on the plane for cheap, heavily discounted prices. I received all 5 of my boxes in perfect condition in 6 buisness days. It cost me all of $212.00. They also picked the boxes up from my parents house.
I read some bad reviews though that if your stuff gets lost then ShipNex plays the blame game and they say, "Well you have to contact FedEx because it was on their plane..." But I risked it anyway and it worked out great for me.
If you are heading over to Korea soon and want to bring extra stuff (which you probably don't need, but I have a family so we have lots of extra clothes and stuff for everyone), I suggest you first over pack your bags to the maximum over weight baggage limit on the airline and pay the extra money. It will probably work out the same as shipping it, plus it is with you the whole time. If you have even more stuff, then try ShipNex.
I'm not sure if they ship from Korea to the US though. |
