Grow up. You're supposed to be taking care of children, not be some kind of adult-child yourself.

If I'm going to cry, it always seems to happen on the bus.

I cry when I've got a case of the mean reds and when Holly Golightly tosses Cat out of the cab in "Breakfast at Tiffany's."
Anything with animals and especially the thought of lonely animals makes me sad.

1. The Lion King.
2. Death of a loved one.
3. The ONE that got away.

When I've got the mean reds I cry because I don't like the school lunch or all the people talking funny talk (Korean). But I'd never, ever let anybody see or know about this. Except for you guys. Thanks.

I was an easy crier back in the day with my first love. Then the sh*t hit the fan and all the drama aside, I think my body just gave up.
I haven't cried for anything since, the death of family, pets (Including my dog who was with me since I was 5 years old), my only other girlfriends emotional crises, nothing.

Dead to the world. It was and still is a kind of problem, the true ennui that I live through, like Robert Ford before revenge strikes for his actions against Jesse James.

However, There was a long period of several years that I would burst into uncontrollable depression when drunk, rarely for any valid reason, but I would turn it into something that sounded vaguely valid to myself, cry myself to sleep in a ditch somewhere and find people the next morning, for example.

Now I tend to be happy when drunk, and I only ever seem to cry watching films, but I basically cry watching every single film. Not out of sadness, usually just cool moments, awe-struck bits. I think it's my bodies last remaining outlet. Sometimes I just rewatch the endings of films or episodes of things I deem awesome, and by the end I'm blubbering away. But it's ok, cause I only ever do it alone.

My coldness towards people, and lack of care have cause people to think I am suffering from Depression but I am certain I'm happier than everyone I know, simply because I stay away from girls. Learnt from my mistake 5,6 years ago.

Just like how I learned from my mistake of drinking enough to get moderate alcohol poisoning on a work day. I haven't gotten more than a bit tipsy since.

True story.

Sounds like rationalization. You just need to change your approach- my guess is that you became very emotionally invested in this one girl and she broke it off. It's just like investing too much money in one stock, you'll be reeling from the loss if things go haywire on you- much more so than if you realize that the stock is going down, so you cut your losses and sell when the getting's somewhat good.

You can't put all your eggs into one basket with girls, that's how guys get hurt. Always work toward dating several women at once- that way, if you really start to like one girl, you won't have too much invested in her, you'll have other options and therefore, you'll have the power because you can walk away at any time.

That sucks. Girls can really mess you up IF it's the wrong one. I went through the same thing and I swore them off for a long time. My mistake was she was really good looking BUT she was a cheating bitch. Eventually it made me super jealous and untrusting of everyone but for some reason I was still holding onto her because I thought I couldn't do any better.

Eventually she broke up with me and at first I was pretty torn up but after about a year I became friends with another girl (who was OK looking but she was really cool.) After really getting to know her she actually became better looking, so for me it's absolutly true that a personality can make a girl look prettier or uglier.

Looking back at the cheating ex I cannot believe that I thought she was so pretty, when I look at her picture now it makes me sick. I guess it has a lot to do with being young and immature, as I was both.

Globutron don't give up, don't go out there searching for a girl you want to marry just hang out with girls and have fun. You never know one might be turn out to be your wife and best friend.

I always cry when I watch the LotR movies, especially at the end of Return of the King when Frodo is saying goodbye to the other hobbits.

You mean the 3 hour ending that just wouldn't stop? Did you need to have someone transfuse you with powerade so your body wouldn't dehydrate?

Globutron don't give up,

It's not that I'm giving up, I'm just not trying. I tried briefly relatively recently and suddenly I got all these floods of emotions; irritation, anger, annoyance, things I never felt without a girl. So I ended up cutting it myself before a third meeting.

Actually I broke it off because it turned out she was insane, to cut a long story short. But no, I really can honestly say I'm happy, content. Hiking, Korea, Just looking at girls in ways I shouldn't and so forth. The life for me! (for now).

Anyway, back to crying.

I almost cried today when I realised I wasn't going to get down the mountain alive. Then I realised I was hardcore and managed.

Read somewhere in uni about the Greeks and catharsis, was that crying good for you or something? Cleansing out stress and giving relief, something like when traumatic experiences and losing friends in battle and all that? No? How far off base am I there chief?
