I've got an OU degree and have used it in Korea with little prob, but I guess this example serves to anyone that it might be a good idea to get extra documentation ready to back up your OU cert in case it's challenged. Transcripts and accreditation details could serve as supporting docs.

Sounds like you'll be fine with getting a visa issuance number.

did you get your E2 visa based upon your BA degree from the O.U?

Please don't fret anymore. The recruiter made a mistake, doesn't know his azz from a hole in the ground. Concentrate on the shampoo.

Each E2 visa is issued under tha name of the each staff of immmigration. It means each staff is authorized and resposible on issuing each visa number. It is his/her own authority and out of my control. You can understand if you imegine the sheriff in each area.

So that's why the slightly something different happens from another immigration. Anyway, Yangju immigratiin told me that it will be positive and the best is ro find a school for her under Yangju immigration.

that is the latest, how much truth there is in it, i know not.

they are now looking for a job in Yangju

i can't believe how disorganised this all is.

just take my documents to immi and apply.

one of the agents thinks it may have something to do with my passport photo: it's a few years old and it has me wearning a headscarf.

but i also sent a recent picture with me wearing western clothes with short hair and NO headscarf.

I dont quite understand! The offer from the first school has now been withdrawn and they are looking for a school in a different area where they think that particular immigration office might approve? Or does the original offer stand, and they are just scrambling about trying to sort out your visa number?

The whole process has become tiresome because...

a) Nobody is 100% sure of what visa requirements are in every instance
b) Individual schools and individual immigration officers vary in their requirements, and what they think are the official requirements.

So yeah.. its gotten ridiculous. Good luck with it tho.

In my passport photo I'm sixteen years old with hair down to my shoulders and a goatee. I don't think they really care.

i think they're looking for a school in an area which will give me a visa.

with regards to my headscarf photo: i thought it might make me look like somebody who isn't from the west and thus not qualified to teach anything that is synonymous with English.

Strange, because passport applications stipulate no headgear in the photo. ...The scarf was round your neck I presume?

but i sent a recent picture with short hair and wearing western clothes.

the passport photo was taken many years ago, before i was married and had to wear it.

i got this message, so i don't know how to interpret it:

you can look for jobs with other recruiters at the same time, if that will help your comfort level. I won't be offended.

should i interpret that the chances of them finding me a job in another school is slim?

and if this province wouldn't give me an E2 number, who's to say another recruiter isn't going to face the same problems?

Hmm, there will be people on this board who are better placed to advise but it doesn't sound good to me. I mean she is basically saying she has no problem with you using a differentr recruiter even though she has all your docs.

Hopefully something comes up soon. If not you might want to think about getting a new CRC.

Eliot - I got another class of E visa this time round, but OU is definitely acceptable for an E2.

I would concur with other posters on this site who suggest your recruiter is using the OU degree as an excuse to drag their feet about something. I'm a bit confused as to your whole story, but maybe they have got cold feet by the photo you've referred to, since sadly many recruiters/schools put so much judgement on those photos.

At the end of the day, the recruiter is not going to care about how much money you have spent getting your docs together. Ironically, though, it sounds as if you had better spent more money on getting more recent and better quality photos as part of your application package.

Definitely start to look at other recruiters and direct application to schools. But, make sure you can get verifiable advice on who you can trust to go with first so that you don't waste all your time and money again.

Good luck.

thanks Hotpants.

yesterday i received an e-mail from my agent, that after speaking to Suwon immigration for a long time, they requested to have some information faxed to them and after seeing the documents they have agreed to give me a visa.

so this implies that Suwon immigration had initially not even seen my photo but were just refusing on hearsay perhaps.

on my agreement form i had to put a recent photo of mine on the form and that shows me with short hair and no headscarf, wearing a blouse i.e. in a western appearance.

i do wish though that i'd updated my passport photgraph.

having said all this, i won't be satisifed until i have my E number.
