Looking for some advice and for Indonesia. I will be traveling from Nov 30-Dec 9th...I will be flying into Jakarta as that seems to be the cheapest. I am planning to buy return tickets from Jakarta to Bali, haven't really figured it out yet.
Just wondering if it would be a good idea to split up my time between Jakarta and Bali? Or are there other interesting places that I should check out? I would be interested in maybe making my way down to Bali by train (if there are some good stops along the way) and returning by air.
Also some info on Jakarta and Bali hostels and places of interest would be awesome.
Thanks in advance |

I have never been but I did a lot of research, as I was planning to go.
I find it difficult to believe Jakarta was the cheapest. Did you try Malaysian Airlines? On G-Market I saw roundtrip to Bali Densapar for 370,000 plus tax.
I have never been to Jakarta either but I have heard little good about it. About on the same level as Manila, only a lot further away.
If you haven't already paid for the tickets, why not try to get one on Malaysia Airlines. I have heard nothing but good about Kuala Lumpur. |

Hey thanks a lot...I will have a co-worker help me out tomorrow. Can I purchase the tickets with a Canadian credit card? I guess the question would be, I dont need to be Korean do I? LOL
Thanks again |

There are 5 or 6 distinct areas on Bali island itself. You could easily spend 10 days on Bali. I have never been to Jakarta but really wouldn't want to go. If you want to see more, add on Mt. Bromo and fly out of Surabaya.
I would check flying Air Asia from Seoul to Kuala Lumpur, then Air Asia again to Bali. fly back from Surabuya (or closest airport to Mt. Bromo) to KL and back to Seoul. |

Try that. It may work.
I keyed in your dates. 362,400 for Malaysia Air. Cathay is 450,000 through HK. As usual, Korean Air is a total gyp at over 800,000. |
Malaysian Air usually requires one night in Kota Kinabalu or KL. |
