until you got it back in the mail.
I'm hearing lots of different numbers. I just want some up to date information because I'm curious if it's really taking people 12 weeks to get this done. Thank you. |

| I think it took a little under 2 months for me. My dad just told me that it arrived the other day. I am in Korea now so I need to have it apostilled and mailed to me in case I decide to stay another year. I made it here just before they changed the law so it has to be an FBI background check. I wonder if I can bring it to immigration before it expires and then I won't need to get another one done later? hmm.. |

What happens if your fingerprints come up negative??
Does that mean you have to send off another set and wait 8 more weeks again?? |

You have to get new prints done and then send them back to a "Special" address that they give you.
For me, last summer, it took about 4 weeks to get my CRC back after redoing my prints. |

In certain states, taking it to the Sec of State will suffice. |

| It took almost 13 weeks for my FBI check to get mailed to me. I was told that they notarize it as well but you have to write that on the application form when you mail it in. My New Jersey state check took about two and half weeks and I did this through the mail from Australia. |
