I've had some issues getting my ps3 to work here, it does not work on my tv even with a converter cable so, I guess HDMI is the only way but will that work?
Is PAL>NTSC an issue with HD too? Or will it just work fine?
I've seen some small HD monitors for about 350,000 and although I wish it was cheaper I am prepared to go to that level....
I'm hoping for confirmation thagt HDMI removes to the PAL/NTSC issue altogether |

Depends on the source. HD content should not be region coded. So, you should have no problems playing HD video, or playing games that are 720P and up.
However, if you still have PAL or NTSC content, you may have problems playing those back. |

Thanks for that, but consider me an absolute novice on this topic. The games I have are ps3 Blu ray games running at 1080p , I assume that you are saying that they will work fine........my ps3 is PAL. Am I right? |

PAL/NTSC is a big issue.
Playing a PAL console on an NTSC TV or monitor (like Korean ones) result in it only showing in black and white.
I tried using a converter which was incredibly expensive (almost 300k won) and it only worked for PAL in 50Hz, not 60Hz which most games are recently.
I asked about using one of the HD monitors, but the person at the store told me it wouldn't solve the problem and still show in black and white.
The solution I ended up using was buying a PAL compatible TV. I've only seen them for sale in one place though. If you're in Seoul, check out the iPark Mall in Yongsan. There's a guy who sells PAL compatible TVs of several sizes. English menu and all. |

I'm guessing that's nowhere near?
Well as general advice, the converters from PAL > NTSC signal often have problems and don't have a good quality (even the more expensive digital ones).
You might be able to find a similar TV on the internet. The one I brought was 650k won, but it's quite big. There were smaller ones, for similar prices as a small HD monitor too at that store. |

That's great if so, about HDMI. One of the guys told me the opposite (and he would've sold me the monitor if he said it'd work, so he had no reason to lie). I'd suggest asking if you can set up your PS3 and test it first, just in case. Let us know if it works. |

The monitor I'm ordering is from gmakrket so I won't be able to test it first but, hopefully, I can return it if it doesn't work. |
