Anyone who has been to Beijing can give some advice of what to do in the short time I am there.
Am traveling there on the 12th November for a conference and what to know what are some of the sites to see in my free time. I will have all day on Sunday and some time on Saturday afternoon to see the site.
Obviously I would like to go to the great wall. Is that doable as a day trip from Beijing?
Tianneman (spl?) Square but what else is worth seeing that is easily accessible in Beijing?
Thanks |

Day 1 - Forbidden City/Tiananmen
Day 2 - Great Wall - It's easily doable as a day trip on the Sunday.
Squeeze in the Summer Palace and the Temple of Heaven if you want to tick all the tourist boxes, eat some duck, eat some street food on Wangfujing, check out the Olympic sites and do some shopping.
Also, scroll down and check out the 5 days enough in Beijing? thread at the bottom of the page. |

one of those days I suggest renting a bike and peddling about in the main area of the city. Heading down to Forbidden City then Temple of Heaven is a pretty good peddle. Also check out the park behind the Forbidden City. There is a small hill you can trek up and the view of the Forbidden City is well worth it. |
