|
|
I am contemplating bringing one of my gaming systems with me so i can online with friends back home. Anyone do this or buy when they got to korea? I can see pros and cons for both, if i buy there it will be Korean system and i will probably not be able to set it up correctly and my games won't play on it. If i bring my existing system with me it will be taking up precious suitcase space and weight. Any opinions? |

I picked up a copy of Napoleon Total war in Canada. You need to get an account with Steam. Then copy the registration number into your Steam account and download the disc it takes about two hours. Then you are good to go. |

PS3s are region free, but I hear Xbox 360s aren't. I'd take it over in a carry to save on weight in your checked luggage. |

I'm biased, but I'd say bring the PS3... an American PS3 is compatible with Korean TVs (the Korean format is the same - NTSC) and any games you buy here. The game selection is also quite good, but newer titles can take a while to be released.
I've heard that it's more of a challenge to find Wii games, but that's just hearsay. Probably other posters will have better advice about this. |

Game systems in korea uses same Japanese region code. For example Xbox 360 and Wii in Korea will run japanese games, but some of NTSC and PAL (Europe) games won't run on Xbox360 and Wii. |

You have 23 systems and you want to bring the Wii? I would say if anything bring the PS3 over because games are regin free. Or you can sell all your systems before you come and buy 1 or 2 when you get here. |

Bring the PS3. You can play your friends from back home online, you can still use your US psn ID, you can play all games (region free), and it's a bluray player! Just be sure to buy either Japanese or US bluray discs. I currently have a Japanese (final fantasy 13 edition) ps3 with a US psn ID while in Korea haha. |

I own a ps3 just because I'm loyal to sony products. I have a little regret getting now though because the online experience is usually worse than the xbox (even for the same games). |
