|
|
My hagwon says they cannot return my diploma to me.
I know this story has been told time and time again but my boss is saying only the original diploma is returned to the employee. Because I sent in a notarized copy with an apostille.
So is she correct? Can only original diplomas be returned? Or do they have it, and are just playing games?
Also if you think they do have it, how can I go about getting it back? Since they are telling me copies cannot be returned.
Thank you. |

usually I thought they kept diplomas to prevent midnight runners. but it's not really preventing that since it's a copy and not the original.
sorry, not sure what you can do, when I asked for mine back I got it after like 6 months or something.
just a question though: if it's just a copy, why do you need/want it back? |

I guess you'd want it back so you can apply for your next job with it.
It's still yours and you have every right to get it back, but rights mean little here.
good luck |

1) It is not their property
2) What they are doing is holding you for ransom, and it's illegal.
3) You have the right to break into their safe and take it by force if need be.
4) Law down the law, don't take their BS! |

Originals are always returned (unless your school is keeping it as hostage to prevent your running). They are NEVER kept by immigration.
Legalized copies (apostilled or embassy certified) are usually (but not always) KEPT by immigration during the visa application process. This includes the degree copy and CRC.
