I really like the Tab, but after looking at the review video posted on the other thread, it's really small compared to the iPad. I have the iPad right now, and after jailbreaking, it's really awesome. I have the Galaxy S too, so I have a feel of the android system on the phone. If the Tab was about the size as the iPad, I would say go for it. But, for me, I prefer the iPad. (Do people really need a camera on a tablet when they have their phones that have cameras too?)

Just my 2 pennies

Since I am considering Galaxy S more for now, I feel like would be using just an over-sized Galaxy S if I get the tab along with the phone. So to me, I'd go for more variety. But since I just don't like Apple, I've been thinking of getting the Identity Tab along with Galaxy S. Maybe Iphone + Galaxy Tab = the best of both worlds? Just maybe.

That's how I felt when I was getting my new phone. I had the iPad already and didn't really want a smaller version as a phone. So I ended up getting the Galaxy S and love it. The Tab is pretty much an oversized Galaxy S, minus the phone and Super AMOLED screen.

Investment?

Usually investments increase in value over time. Both of these would be an extremely poor investment choice.

Which one would be a better way to spend your hard earned cash?

In my opinion the size is the only major difference. They both do the same basic stuff (internet/movies/games/music). They will both have some interesting apps. I guess the Galaxy tab has the cameras that the iPad doesn't, but the size is clearly the biggest difference. If you want to be super portable, get the Galaxy. if you're going to use it mostly at home maybe the iPad is a better choice.

My personal opinion is that I'm not interested in either one. I have a smart phone. I have a desktop computer. I don't feel the need for anything to fill in the gap.

I think the Galaxy Tab would be better for traveling. The Ipad's screen size is great, but there is a price to pay for all that viewing real estate.

Emails aren't very long, so I don't imagine you would need large screen jsut to check emails by your bed. Apps on the 2 devices will be similar. You will be able to find similar apps for both platforms.

The only question you should really ask is: Is the bigger screen worth the extra weight?

I'll tell you that since you are considering both models, you will second guess your decision. No matter which one you buy, you will wonder if you made the right choice. Just pull the trigger on one. Flip a coin. And then tell yourself you made the right decision.

you could look at it as a great investment IF it increases your productivity...saves you time...and adds to your convenience....or enhances your leisure time. the monetary cost isn't the only thing to be considered.

Better investment?

No doubt. The iPad.......if the ridiculous prices paid for used and outdated Apple products is anything to go by.
