we're debating whether or not to go on this wine train tour in seoul for 90,000 WON. The price is a bit steep and just wondering if anyone has been before and might be able to shed some light on the value of the ticket price. Thanks =)

We haven't personally gone on the trip but here's what we have been told:

- The wine selection is pitiful. Only 2 varietals to choose from and they're not very good. The dry is adequate, but the sweet is like drinking Kool-Aid.

- The lunch buffet is not worth the money. Plus, they serve you kimbap and 'assorted snacks' on the way back. Really, kimbap?

- The biggest deal breaker for us is the fact that people bring their kids on this trip. So that means you'll be stuck on a train for 6 hours with kids running up and down the cars. They even advertise kids ages 0-3 are free.

If your not that into wine, or if it's not the most important part of the trip for you then you may enjoy the scenic train ride and the activities. But, if you're looking for a relaxing day of drinking great tasting wines I'd think twice.

Sounds like a thumbs down. Thanks for the heads up. Previously, I posted an article about the wine train, for informational purposes, but if it's that bad I say nevermind. Ansananswers I hope you continue warning others about bad experiences with restaurants bars, whatever. Don't hold back, for any reason, and tell the truth and you will gain a great deal of respect from other expats.
