I am selling Canon EF 50 F/1.4 lens. It is in very good condition, no scratches, marks, glass is clean of fungus and optically perfect. Lens is soft at 1.4, sharp from 1.8 on. I compared it to Olympus Zuiko OM 50/1.4 and EF 50/1.8 and this lens is by far the sharpest from them all. Price is 350K insured and shipped. I can also consider trade for 24-105L in similar condition with cash on my end. Pictures can be seen here:

I've had the pleasure of doing business with this seller before --- highly recommended and I can vouch that he takes very good care of his things.

The 50mm 1.4 is a lens that I've owned before and I highly highly recommend it. It's a significant upgrade over the 50mm 1.8 cheapie.

I have to apologize, and hope this thread doesn't end up wayyyy off track, but....

I'm new to photography, and have learned a lot in the 6 months I've had my camera. However, I'm not sure what this lens offers that's different than my 18-55mm F 5.6 lens, or for that matter the 50mm 1.8F. I'm not able to afford this one right now, but why, in general, would a photographer want this kind of lens in their bag? What does it do that a standard kit lens does not?

(Hopefully answering this will help you sell it--if not, I'm grateful for the thoughts and advice.)

Cheers!

Hi Jordan, thank you for kind comment, btw. I checked your site, looks like "dark side" is working for you very well, I really enjoyed the pictures.

To nstick13: as Jordan mentioned, EF 50/1.4 is an upgrade to 50/1.8. Not only is lens of better construction, but focusing is much better and so is the sharpness. For beginner photographer on a budget is not "must have" item, but as you want to shoot more in low light, or have shallow DOF, 50/1.4 can deliver very nice and sharp picture at F 1.8, whereas 50/1.8 won't get sharp until F2.2 (my copy at least). Not much difference but to many is worth the extra money.
