It's Ohio....
They have some of the poorest cities in the country (Cleveland, Akron, Dayton, etc)
They're really, really stupid
and they're all Buckeye fans.
This doesn't surprise me at all. Please don't look at Ohio and assume that's how all Americans are, because a lot of Americans are embarrassed for them too. |

Theme, you are entitled to your opinion, but I disagree.
People can live where and how they choose. If they are of a lifestyle and culture to live in a trailer or mobile home, then they should be allowed that right without being badmouthed about it.
I come from a background where I and my family lived in a trailer home for about 5 years. I felt different from everyone else that had grown up there, around the same "trailer trash" people, as you and others call them, and felt like I had a better life in store for me (which, thankfully, I did).
I'll tell you what, maybe living in a trailer park is not a good way to live (and that I *have* experienced), but there are some good people living there. This one girl that exploded at the drive thru was not described as living in a trailer park, being poor, or any kind of class modifier. You (and quite a few other people) simply projected it on to her.
Some people fly off the handle for stupid reasons. During the video, a bottle was thrown at the window. It did appear to be a beer. Maybe she was roaring drunk. Haven't we all done something stupid when we're drunk? We don't know any other details of the case other than she was charged with vandalism. Sure, the girl should have had assault on the list, too, I agree. But we don't know WHY she did it. It doesn't make her white trailer trash. She could just have very well been a college student.
My point is, don't judge a book by its youtube video. K? |

Some of the best folks I know lived in trailers/manufactured housing. A few really well-read, intelligent people too, whom I can tell are brighter than half of you that have posted on this thread so far. |

You clearly have made some good points. Hollywood and some of us on here have sure made some terrible comments about those that live in a trailer.
What I have done, however, was to point out the reason that it is a bad idea to buy into that culture.
I am of the opinion that "buying into that culture" ruins whatever brains those people had in the first place about what is a good thing to do.
I have cited real people who could have or eventually did buy real property instead of throwing it away in lot rent. |

My focus is on young middle income earners who have the credit rating and down payment needed to buy a home.

Actually anybody who bought a house in the last decade (i the US) has not seen their wealth grow from that property. |

Well I thought I ran that post through Word.
Anyway.
I didn't say that I have forty years of wisdom - only that she worked for forty years and missed the greatest real estate boom ever because she lived in a trailer.
You could have a sense of humor though � maybe I was against dotals and am promoting that! |

You are probably right. I am sure there are some pretty savvy investors behind those gates.
Maybe they were smart enough to "buy term and invest the difference."
A movement that swept through the 80's with A. L. Williams, and now a Primerica scheme, this could be that other wealth creation vehicle you refer to.
Problem is, after buying that overpriced term and investing in a stock market that ultimately tanked, that wouldn't have worked either. |
