While looking for work over here I met a guy online who is employed by LCI Kids Club in Seoul. His name is Joe, very helpful and approachable, and he and his wife have an expat-in-Korea type website. you can reach him by google-ing 'com3designs south korea'. His site wont be the only hit that pops-up, but you'll know the one b/c it says 'our journey in pictures', or something like that. E mail him and tell him kittyfye sent you. He might remember me.
Anyhow, Ive been in Daegu now for two weeks to the day. I think it's a great city so far, though I hear the summers are the most dramatic in Korea. This is ironic for me b/c I just left Houston, TX with the intention of permanently escaping sub-tropical summers. Oh, well, no matter how Houston-like it gets in Daegu, it wont last as long as the summers do there. As for the expat crowd here, I know nothing about it. But the Koreans are alright by me so far. Of course, the women are a little shy.
If you want, pm me with you email address. Id be happy to be your connect over here. Best of luck to you. |

Jung-gu is downtown. Igok-dong is in Dalseong-gun, about 30-40 minutes west of downtown, near Seongseo E-Mart. The subway line that will be stretching out there, won't be done for another couple of years. The friends that I have in that end of the city usually end up hanging out in establishments out there, throughout the week, and then come downtown on the weekends, as it's a 8-9000 Won cab ride to come back, late at night.
I know of 2 people in Daegu that work at Kid's Club schools (but neither at the one that you mentioned). One just got his letter of release due to the school's looming bankruptcy and the other one just simply said that hers is a nightmare, as well. |
