First piece of advice if you want to take this job. Convert to Islam. Second best not apply if you are American. |

We talked about this job about 3-4 months ago.
I'd be REALLY suspicious and cautious about this one. I smell a big fish. Could be wrong but the email address for one, is a big yield sign to me.
Just saying and trying to help out here.... You might see my ELT Job Blog for some posts about warning signs to look for when job hunting... (scroll down to "Do the right things - beware of scammers).

Think it is worth applying if you don't meet, say, any of the requirements?
I'd risk my life for a year for that kind of cash and that kind of bizarro experience.
Hey, what's the harm- applying too! |

Looks legit to me
The website in the guy's email is the real website for Dyncorp, which is confirmed on wikipedia (yeah, yeah, i know)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dyncorp
Seems as they are not without their share of problems (sex trafficking! among many others), but they are a department of defense contractor.
How is this not legit? |

Look at the ad.
Are we teaching them or Iraqis English?
"quailified"?
"expereince"?
"yeas"?
"ministries to students"?
"acompletion"?
And those are just a sampling. It's littered with spelling and grammatical mistakes.
One would think if this is legit...they would have a spell-check program or at least a proof reader. Don't see how a native English speaker wouldn't have caught at least a few of these. If they have that kind of cash to spread around but can't spare it to have a professional-looking ad...what does that say?
Remember if it seems too good to be true...it almost always is. |

Misspellings aplenty, yeah, but the company, email, and website all appear to be quite real. These defense contractors are famous for being scum, but scum that pays well. I'll keep investigating, but it appears to be a real ad for a real job to me.
Just because somebody's question on eslcafe is dumb, it doesn't make them a troll, and just because an ad is dumb, it doesn't mean it isn't real. |

I would argue that this doesn't seem too good to be true. Truck drivers working for defense contractors make similar money, and are recruited in the same kind of way, through random internet ads.
Plus, you could die! Iraq is no joke right now. Seems just about right to be true. |

Imagine how stupid you'd feel if you got kidnapped by insurgents. Just because you put greed before your own safety. Definitely not worth the risk. |

Selling your kidney on the black market makes more sense than this!
At least you have another kidney left. |

If they ask for cash to "speed your application", then its not really a job. |

The part that concerns me the most is "These positions may be rotational among multiple locations in Iraq."... I think if I could stay put in a bunker or definitely secure area, it would be better... but if you're taking trips to god knows where... |
