It was colder than a hakwon owner on the 11th month of your contract last night. My spacious but cold rooftop apartment took about an hour and a half to heat back up to a decent temperature. My patio door is literally a single pane of glass. It leaks cold air like a sieve. I have a feeling its gonna be a COLD winter in this place =(.

Gonna hold off until I can't stand it. What's sort of good in saving me money is I haven't sat down and tried to figure out how to turn the ondol on. I simply have no idea how it works =).

I just know the button turns on the hot water for me. That's been good enough for now but sort of worried when it'll be a lot colder soon.

not quite yet, though I debated it a couple of days ago when it got quite cold and the temp inside my closet, er. I mean appt, went down to 57.

Ultimately I may not hold out that long this year, we shall see.

Even when on, my heating bill almost never exceeds 65 K or so, since I don't like the temperature above 19-20 celsius.

it's the goddamn air con bills and necessity to run it almost non stop from July thru Sept that kill me here!!

온돌 - ondol - literally means hot rock, is what they had under the floor of old-fashioned houses which was warmed by lighting a fire under the house.
So unless you live in the countryside and actually have to light a fire under your house to keep warm, it really should be 난방 (nan-bang = heating) (냉방 - Neang-bang is cooling).

I haven't turned it on yet... but I'm sure I'm getting a little bit of residual heat from everyone on all sides.
