Job A:
SMOE all girls middle school
18 classes per week (45 mins)
21 official vacation days, but extra days at school's discretion
2.5 million per month, plus 500,000 housing
Students largely apathetic and not interested in English, often ill disciplined and disrespectful. Teaching duties not far above 'human tape recorder'.
Job B:
Private elementary English immersion school
25 classes per week
8 weeks vacation
2.35 mill pm, 450,000 housing
small classes of 17 students, more motivated and better at English. |

I'd personally go with A. I dread elementary and middle schools are not streamed, so theoretically you'll get students of all behaviors and ability. |

i'd go with B, don't you have to be at the school for like 8 hours a day with SMOE? What's the point of having 18 teaching hours if you still have to be there when you are not teaching? |

Job B is 8.30 to 4.30 everyday, same as SMOE public schools (I'm in Job A now). I just simply don't enjoy teaching middle school after 4 years of elementary school. To be honest, I was just checking how green the other grass is...
Mods, do me a favour please and combine my accidental double post. |

I dreaded high schools, having heard some very negative things about 'em. The fact is, I enjoy teaching in one more than I did in elementary school. It all depends on the school, students, staff, whether there's textbook to follow, etc. Every school is different regardless of the students' age. |
