http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/101105/national/passenger_disguise

A man from Hong Kong disguised himself in a silicon mask as an elderly white man, and flew to Canada.

Emerging from the washroom, he suddenly became a 20 year old asian. He is asking for political asylum.

I don't recall what news organization I read it on (probably CNN) but it said that he had a valid passport of someone who looked similar to the disguise. The age of the person who's passport he had was 55, which is why that number was used in the reports.

I'm not sure there's anything they can do to stop someone from wearing a world-class disguise like this and using another person's passport to board a plane.

EDIT:
Found it:
cnn.com wrote:

"It is believed that the subject and the actual United States Citizen passenger (whose date of birth is 1955) performed a boarding pass swap, with the subject using an Aeroplan card as identification to board the flight," the alert said.

He's from China, is involved in a 'group' that could be government related, and is fearful of his life and the lives of his family...so he wants asylum.

It's real.

This story sounds like a joke, but it's all over the CBC. The twist in the story now is the defense council for the masked man wants to bar the Canadian Chinese language press from covering the story, just in case these sources are really working for the Canadian government.

It sounds pretty serious, but when I see pictures of the mask, it's so hilarious...

If he was more patient and didn't change his own clothes back in the airplane, he could have already been in canada now and it wouldnt have made any big news.

Yeah, why did he do that? That's just goofy.

Eyes on the prize! Don't take off the silicone mask until you're at home!

He wouldnt have made it through immigration in Vancouver. And nobody knows this guy's actual story. He may believe he has a valid refugee status claim. Just a slight correction to a poster above, the defense lawyer wants to ban Chinese media outlets from his immigration hearing in case they're working for the Chinese goverment (not Canadian).

Egg on the face for Air Canada and whoever else let him pass though, and a wrench thrown at those who support racial profiling.
