so the enhanced Disclosure Scotland can only be obtained from an employer or an umbrella body, so how would i go about getting an enhanced CRB as an individual?

Sad

You can't. You don't need it. See above.

How do i get the enhanced one from the police that only costs 10:00?

i couldn't find it on the police link posted earlier.

thanks heaps.

my documents have been in Korea for the past 6 weeks or so and it's been a nightmare, my jobs keep falling through Sad

I've read that in order to get a Disclousre Scotland, you don't have to have resided in Scotland.

Would that be better than getting a CRB or a subject access?
and are both enhanced because the basic one is no longer valid.

You can't get an Enhanced or Standard Disclosure. Those can only be obtained by employers. You can personally order a Basic Disclosure.

If you're after the police check, that's 10 quid. You need to go to your local police station and ask for a subject access request. They'll have you fill out a form and then you wait up to 40 days.

The Basic Disclosure (Scotland) is a UK-wide check. You can be resided in any part of the UK to order it.

The subject access and the basic disclosure are both at the basic level. You can not personally order any kind of enhanced level check. The basic level check is accepted by immigration. If someone is telling you differently, they don't know what they are talking about.

Thanks hun, I'll apply for the Disclosure Sctoland and ask them to notoraise it for me.

What, Basic Disclosure? No idea. You can apply online.

If you're in the UK, then you can apply online. It shouldn't take more than a few days for the forms to arrive at your home address. If you're living overseas, you'll have to make a postal application, and the forms are sent out by surface mail, and can take anywhere from two weeks up to a month or more depending on where you live.

They usually respond quite quickly to email queries, though you can just try to call again, until you eventually get through. Never had the answer phone when I called them.

It's probably going to take 10-14 days or so to get the actual CRC, depending on how busy they are. Might be an idea to order two copies.

You can do that via the online application. Just drop them an email after sending in your application to ask for them to do it.

I have a very recent Enhanced CRB as until recently I was looking for work in social care.. could I use this (providing i get it notarized) even though it says position applied for 'Social Worker' and name of employer 'Randstad Care'? Or do I need to get a basic disclosure myself??

hun you can use that one. the first CRB i sent off said 'voluntary admin worker'

just get it notorised, but don't go to a notary public like i did, i totally got ripped off.

if a solictor's stamp will suffice, do that.

the notary public charged me 236:00 for notorising and and getting my certifciates and CRB apostilled.

just filled it in but it didn't ask me to upload any of my certificates, e.g. electricty bill or bank statement.

is this because i've lived at my current address for more thna 12 months or because I had an enhanced CRB number that I entered do you think?

sorry if i sound paranoid or stupid but the past few weeks have made me very paranoid :/

You need to send off your bank statement/utility bill, nat'l insurance card, driver's license, passport info page etc to them after you've made your online application. You can either fax them over, post them, or scan them and then email them off. Make sure you do it ASAP. Also, make sure you write down your application number on each copy so that they know who those documents belong to. Any further problems, just email them or call. They're pretty good at dealing with enquiries.
