I know you are not an English teacher nor a Westerner, but I'll recommend www.gmarket.co.kr for most of your shopping needs while in Korea. You need an alien number, bank account, and a high level of computer/finance expertise in Korean language to master the overly complex online purchasing process the Koreans devised in the name of security, but it works if you pay attention to detail and get it all exactly right. Just kidding about needing the high level skills. Do get a Korean to help you set the account up and pay for your new monitor!!! Trust me, you'll quickly see that site offers more selection at the best prices than any brick and mortar mart and you don't have to go on an exhausting wild goose chase through huge confusing markets like Yongsan Electronics and many miles of walking. You order, pay, and they deliver in 2 days to the address you typed in. Presto! Now wasn't that a million times easier than actually shopping in Korea?

I know a place you can get both new and used 22" monitors, but of course its dependant on where you are.
Where do you live?
By the way where are you from?

yeah I thought online is cheaper than a shop too.
Then I walked into a store that sells used items, and they also have new stuff there too.
I ended up getting an Apple iMac and a Sony 13.3" notebook there.
The used stuff is in excellent condition. I also bought new unused speakers in a box there.
I was there today and they have several monitors 20-22"including a NEW Dell 20" monitor that has a camera and USB outlets. I know its new cause it still has protective film that has not been removed.
There are other good monitors there.
20" is a nice size, thats the size of the iMac I got. |

11st.co.kr is better than GMarket. What's your budget? That will allow us to give a better recommendation. Do you watch movies on your PC? Do you game a lot on your PC? What kind of games? |

Unless you're a big gamer, I would recommend getting a S-IPS or a S-PVA type monitor. The majority of the monitors nowadays are the TN type. TN monitors have good response times for gaming. The viewing angles and color are not as good as IPS though. If you don't mind getting a Korean brand, they are not that much more expensive than the TNs. Here is the link for the monitors on enuri: http://www.enuri.com/view/Listmp3.jsp?cate=0405&islist= Click on the size monitor you want, then click on the IPS link. There are some good deals on there. |
