Hi, I've been in Yeonsu for two weeks now. Really enjoying it here but I can only find fruit and veg in the local Lotte Mart and EMart places. Is there a good market?

I found one near Arts Centre which is really cheap and has tons of variety. Is there anything like that a little nearer?

If there is an old 1950's era city center not yet redeveloped you should be able to find a place where old ladies sit in the street selling things. It could also be in a special area the city designated for the local seafood and produce market if the old city center is gone. Some old centers have a 5 days market where it's only held every 5 days and other places have it every day. I understand Incheon is a newer developed city so it may no longer exist there, but it's worth asking a local such as your co-teacher as a Korean (or foreigner) from another city wouldn't even know what you want to know unless we go there, walk, and ask around. I live in an old city so it's all centered around an old style pedestrianized street market where it's old 1950's places with 1950's kind of people working. I am lucky to have this set up locally as to avoid Lottemart's scam prices.

we're new in yeonsu too but have found buying fruit off of the big fruit trucks more reasonable than lotte and there is a little store between the park(sorry don't know the name) and the domino's pizza that has fruit and veggies that is around the same prices if not a little cheaper but they don't have much to offer. otherwise we're at the mercy of lotte.

There are few outdoor markets to buy produce in Yeonsu. Datapackrat made a good point about buying from the fellas in the trucks. I'm not sure where exactly you live, but the smaller markets often have good deals on fruits and veggies. Woosung apartment had a decent one when I lived there four years ago.

The big market at the Arts Centre is likely the best in the city.

I use the trucks when I can't get the time to go to the market in Arts Centre. It's totally worth going there though as they have tons of stuff for especially low prices.

I believe the market near the bus terminal is open Mon-Sat. Opens early in the morning till about 4 pm. Closed on holidays.
