I don't know if there is a similar place out there, but I think it would be a good idea for those of us that teach adult conversation classes to have a place where we could have link access to recent articles, blogs, whatever to be used in the classroom.

I have to come up with a new "interesting" topic each day for my adults and that can sometimes be a challenge, requiring massive amounts of time on the internet searching for topics to keep them interested.

I'll start. I used this one today concerning airport security and human rights violations:

Yesterday was on outdated teaching and the Montessori model:

You've probably already talked about this, but when I taught adults, they loved to discuss whether or not couples should live together before marriage.

Another hot topic: is English education good for really young kids? (I think we also talked about this more than once)

Also: what do you think about smoking bans in public buildings?

Also: do you believe in ghosts?

Also: is the public school system working?

All of these are good ideas. However, my students want to discuss things in the current news. This is even more of a challenge than coming up with good random ideas. I was hoping to get links to current stories that we could all share.

EDITS: I changed the name of the thread to reflect this Smile

CNN Asia has light-hearted, easy-to-read human interest articles. Alas, there's no section for Seoul.
