|
|
Hi,
Does anybody have any idea what time the last airport bus will leave from Gwangmyeong KTX station? I guess bus 6004 is best and most direct but will there be one at 11pm on xmas eve??
Alternatively, any idea how much a taxi will cost for the same journey? Shame the Arex wont open to Seoul station until the 29th or I would arrive there and problem solved!
Thanks for any advice. |

The last 6004 out towards ICN is at 21:15. |

Thanks for the reply. Kinda sucks that the buses stop so early.
Any idea how long you think it would take and how much it would cost in a taxi between the station and airport?
If anyone has any other ideas or tips, I would be grateful of them. Cheers |

Taxi would be in the region of 40 - 50,000. It could be more if you were stuck in a lot of traffic, although that's unlikely at that kind of time.
I was recently asked by someone to find out about late night buses to Incheon Apt. from central Seoul and a quick Naver search suggested there was a midnight bus from Yeongdeungpo (which you could get a subway to from Gwangmyeong) and one at 1.20 from Seoul station (stay on the KTX obviously!).
The person who asked me actually ended up going at a different time of the day so I can't vouch 100% for the accuracy of that info. |

OP, what is your point of origin exactly? And may I guess your flight is early in the morning next day? |

Taxi doesn't sound like it will be too bad then. The most direct route is preferable at that time.
I am in Suncheon, Jeollanamdo. The midnight bus will get in too late and the last flight leaves Yeosu airport just as I finish work. Train is really my only option. Thanks for the input thus far! |

I live in Anyang (not too far from Gwangmyeong) and it's 80,000 to get to the airport. I think you might be shooting a little low. |

Inferring from your original question, I guess you were planning to take 18:56 Saemaul to Iksan and transfer to KTX there to arrive in Gwangmyeong around 22:33?
I would've suggested, if you don't get off that Saemaul, it arrives in Yeongdeungpo by 23:25, which gives you enough time to catch the airport bus from Yeongdeungpo Station at midnight sharp to arrive in ICN at 01:10, which would be good enough unless you're heading for Qatar.
But if you are indeed, then yeah, you'll have to experience Initial D: Korea yourself. Godspeed. |

Where exactly in Anyang, and do you mean since the new bridge has been opened or before?
I've never actually made that journey by taxi myself but the company my wife works for often has people taking the KTX to Gwangmyeong and taxi-ing it to ICN and that's what she reckoned it'd be. But this is only since the Incheon Bridge has been opened. Previously a similar taxi journey before the new bridge opened was more than double, apparently.
Bear in mind also that from the KTX station it's just one set of traffic lights to go through before you're straight onto the expressway that takes you all the way to ICN.
If you've made the journey in a taxi a few times via the new bridge and haven't had much traffic congestion to go through, then yes, your estimate may be more reliable than mine.
Edit - just out of curiosity I ran the journey through Naver maps search function which calculates the estimated taxi fare. It came up with just under 40,000 for Gwangmyeong to ICN, which with the highway toll added on would be still under 50,000. I also tried it for a journey from where I live (nowhere near Gwangmyeong) to ICN to see how accurate it was and it did come up with a figure just a couple of thousand away from I know I'd pay for that journey. Not 100% sure obviously, but that'd suggest to me that my wife's guesstimate wasn't so far off.

Indeogwon, which is the other side of town, but Indeogwon-Gwangmyeong is only like 12-15,000. |
