I was considering doing the CELTA in Thailand after Xmas, But I haven't ever been to Europe. So, I decided to do the C-TESOL in Barcelona in Jan-Feb 2011. I was just wondering if anyone has done it and if they could give me some tips/advice about what to bring and what to expect? Thanks! |

I chose to do the CELTA in New Zealand because I'd never been there. It was fantastic! Walking to the campus on the weekdays, eating in restaurants, was not at all mundane, were done as a tourist with little to no loss of time. Hell, the weather too was great, as it was the month of January, summer there. Plus, every weekend I dedicated one day to the course and one day to travelling around and experiencing the place. My month there was rich at every turn without being too much. I highly recommend edutourism. There is very little extra time when doing the course but daily tasks that need doing anyways are sure better when done in a new place. |

I'm looking for tips like what to bring and what to expect in the course, not editorial comments. I know it will not be a vacation! If I wanted a vacation, I would go home! |

Read Harmer, "How to Teach English" before the course, and anything else you can handle in their pre-course reading list.
Bring a huge binder for organizing handouts. |

Thanks! I ordered the book from Amazon, hopefully it will arrive soon. I'm boning up on grammar also. I plan to start the Diploma TESOL right afterward online. The only thing about going to Spain is the damn airfare! The cheapest ticket I can find is $1600. Flying used to be cheap! |
