I saw and had my hands on the KT Identity Tab at the Pixdix store in COEX. It wasn't that impressive, it felt sluggish and heavy compared to my sister in law's ipad.
The store is in the underground part under the hotel near Hyundai Dept. Store. |

If you are talking about Galaxy Tab, you can download android apps on it from the android marketplace. |

Lol...I'm not switching, I'm just mentioning the pad for comparison purposes....but in your defense you DID say "If you're talking about Galaxy Tab".
Both of the tablets are being referred to as Tabs though as opposed to pads/tampons. |

They are available at Show stores. If what someone mentioned earlier about Show employees not even knowing that this device exists, that's pretty sad on KT's part.
You can call the English line and ask them for a store near you that sells the Identity tablet. You'll probably need to say it to them several times very slowly though because they'll assume you mean iPad. |

Most sites I've read call it a clone of the Galaxy Tab, except the Identity has 8GB storage,an LCD touch screen, and only a rear camera while the Galaxy has 16GB (I think) a Super-Amoled touch screen and rear and front camera. They're both 7-inches.
|
This is a false statement that for some reason will not die. The Galaxy Tab manufactured by Samsung does NOT have a Super Amoled screen. It is a standard LCD. Samsung is the only manufacturer of the S-Amoled screen and the biggest size you will find commercially is the 4 incher gracing the front of the Galaxy S handphone.
There are rumors that the next Galaxy Tab already being shown at trade shows will have a 7 inch S-Amoled screen however. |

Sorry, I was just relaying what most sites were saying. Thanks for the clarification. |

I called the Itaewon Show store a few days ago and the guy told me it was 300,000W without a contract. I'll call there again tomorrow to confirm but that's what I was told.
Gmarket has it for the 499,000W price too so who knows. |

| I was also told 300,000 without contract. The gmarket shops often include a lot of accessories. Don't know what could be 200k though.. |

I just spoke to several people today and got a variety of ansers.
I called Itaewon again and spoke to a lady who told me that foreigners werent allowed to buy the "Kpad" as some people are now calling it.
I then called KT's English line to confirm and she told me that whatever the store says is correct. I explained to her that the store told me two totally different things so I was confused as to what was correct.
She then put me on hold while she asked around (I hope) and then she told me that the Kpad/Identity Tab was 500,000W without a contract or 300,000W if you bought an egg.
I told her that I thought that the tablet was free with a wibro egg purchase and contract and then she just flat out saids that she didnt know and apologized.
So I called the show store at Kyung Hee University and spoke to a girl who spoke perfect English and she was as helpful as she could be I guess. She told me that I probably wouldnt be able to buy the tablet without a contract. She then asked for my ARC# and after running it through the computer told me that I wasnt eligible but that no one was sure why.
She then asked me why I wasnt buying an iPad which I could have responded in any number of ways but declined to.
So yeah...I'm pretty annoyed right now.
I visit the US in a month so I'll probably just wait until I go home and then I'll buy something there. Fewer headaches.
I'll look at it this weekend if I see it in a store...but if its any more than 300,000W, then it's not worth it. The Nook Color is about the same price and does everything that I need and thats probably what I'll end up buying. |
