The best game for me is almost any card game. I love cards. I was probably born in the wrong era. |
Hardly, we're living in the middle of the No Limit Holdem boom. Plus there are all kinds of card games you can play online now. Still more fun to do it in person, of course. |
Yea I like playing hold em but i much prefer omaha. I do like playing online but its not the same.
One thing that annoys me these days is that people seem to think no limit is poker. At christmas at my house we play dealer's choice every year. It can be any poker variant or even something like guts. I can never do that here as people get bitchy as soon as you mention omaha hi lo or any variant of stud. Try even calling a hand of plain old limit hold em.
Anyway I'll be at home for a month soon. Plenty of time for a hyper ruthless, hyper bitchy (players are encouraged to gang up on other players) games of switch(a form of one card for money) with my family and alot of wine. Good times. |

I have to say Sim City 4 is my favorite game ever. I could get lost in that game and loose a whole day without noticing.
Closely followed by that is Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. The gameplay is so varied it's difficult to get bored with it. It's gret to play alone or just f*ck around with your friends for a while. |

For my favorite game ever I'd have to say Resident Evil 4. At the time the graphics were amazing and the game scared the crap out of me if I played it at night with the lights off.
Although I was really excited when Resident Evil 5 came out when, when it finally did come out it all the things that I loved about 4 were not incorporated into it. It just seemed like any other shoot em up game, I found it to be quite boring. |

My favourite game (or series I gues) would certainly have to be Mass Effect. Though Fatal Frame and the Ocarina of Time is also great.
Bard's Tale (the one made in 2004) is pretty hiliarious too. Not the best gameplay, but superb writing. |

I would have to say the Elder Scrolls series is my favorite, I got crazy addicted to it back in high school. Between Morrowind (ES III) and Oblivion (ES IV), I've put over 500 hours |

I'd say GTA4 has provided me with more out and out fun than any other game.
The original F.E.A.R. was a great shooter.
Back in the day I just loved Doom and Lemmings.
The Crysis series is awesome action-packed fun......if your PC can play it!
The one and only RPG I've ever played, Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, was a great time-waster with a good atmosphere and lovely graphics. |

Yeah, there's bigger productions with amazing stories and graphics, even some genuine works of art, but it's hard to beat the universal accessibility and appeal of Tetris. I doubt there's a person (who has access to electricity) left alive who hasn't played it. Twenty-five years since it's creation and people are still making "sequels" that are based on essentially the same mechanics. |

MMORPG: Ultima Online. The one game that got the genre right before everyone else followed the wrong track.
TBS: Civilization series. Lot's of flaws, but better than anything else out there.
RTS: Starcraft series. Nothing can compete at competitiveness.
RPG: This one is hard. There are many good RPGs, but all have flaws and strengths. Baldur's Gate 2 might be the one with fewest flaws.
I have to little experience with FPS/Adventure/Racing/Other to have a good opinion. |

Any old PC gamers here?
I'm talking like.. Riven?
Or anyone play the Journeyman Project Series? I loved them, especially the final one, Legacy of Time.
Final Fantasy VI? (III in the USofA) Not PC, i know..
Dark Forces?
Maybe a little newer, but Star Wars Rebellion?
Man... those days were awesome. |

Half-Life 2 is my favorite fps, the Gravity Gun is awesome and controlling an always replenished squad of ant-lions using them to clear rooms is too much fun. Only which the gravity gun worked on the mobs. For RTS, personal favorite was C&C- easy, clean interface, fun, replayable. Multiplayer FPS is easily COD:MW2 MMORPG WoW- Vanilla was great, Bc decent, wrath OK, Cata will be awesome.
My all-time favorite game was Tachyon: the Fringe space combat game with open flying environments, good boss fights and Most importantly Bruce Campbell voicing the hero http://www.giantbomb.com/tachyon-the-fringe/61-16616/
Serious Sam and State of emergency get a honorable mentions for pure mindless carnage |

I read a lot of people complain about COD:MW2 and praise battlefield BC2. Is BC2 really that good? Should I pick it up? |

I'm still trying to figure out if my laptop has the capability to handle Prey. Anyone have any ideas where to buy that? Yongsan doesn't usually have games that old. |
I have a 2 year old laptop with a core duo CPU with 2Gb of RAM and only 128MB video memory in an ATI 1200 GPU and Prey runs beautifully in high quality. It made my machine hot last Saturday, but then I used my vacuum to suck out the clogged dust to find it ran sweet yesterday without getting hot. Great game OP. |
