Hi there
I've have brought a coffee table and am wanting to send it to New Zealand. It is roughly 1.3m (length) x 0.5m (width) and weighs around 15kgs. Apparently since it's over 1metre it's too big to send from the post office. I am wanting to ship it. My co-teacher rung a couple of companies and they quoted 1million won to send it to N.Z. This seems ridiculously over-priced!! Can someone please help me? |

Are you sure your friend is getting the translation of the money right? |

Yes, always double check when Koreans talk about numbers. |

It may be so large they will only send it by plane. Then 1 million sounds right.
100,000 is possible too. Prices of things often surprise people. |

1 million sounds about right. I planned on sending something home that didn't fit in a standard box. They need to make a box specifically for the table.
Best bet is taking it home via over-sized luggage. |

Cut in in half, and then glue it back together. |

Yea i have double checked with my co-teacher, it is going to cost $1million won to send the table with this company. The thing is this company sends it on the plane, I've heard it's a lot cheaper sending it by boat. Does anyone know of a good shipping company that could transport a coffee table?? Please! (I am in Changwon, so maybe a company in Busan?)
I would take it home as oversized luggage, but I'm traveling around China afterwards.
Hope someone can help |

Even on a boat you usually have to reserve a certain amount of space and you get to fill that with whatever you want. Other than regular mail they don't usually give you a price to send a specific item (unless that item fit neatly in one of the size allotments). |
