I've secured the job, signed the contract, about to send my visa issuance number off, but I'm not starting work till the first week of Jan.

I really don't want to be stuck in England for the Christmas holidays, it's a bit of a desperate stab but can I just travel to Korea in a week on a tourist visa, stay with a friend until the start of Jan, and then transfer to the E2, or would that mean I have to leave Korea and then come back?

Sorry if this is a repeated question..

IF you have the E2 you CANNOT enter as a tourist.

Good news is that you can enter on your E2 any time after it is issued until it expires (90 days from issue).

There are a few minor problems:

1) you still only have 90 days (after your entry) in which to get your ARC (so you may be rushed a bit after you start work to get it).

2) you WILL need to get an extension to your ARC near the end of your contract to enable you to finish your contract. Not difficult to do (some minor paperwork and 30k won fee) but it must be done (sometime during the last 60 days of your ARC).

.

What's wrong with England? =P. I'm here in London right now as well hoping to get clearance by EPIK and the POE/MOE before moving anywhere =/. The process is making me too anxious lol.
