nah, it's one from column A (cpu and/or combo) and one from column B (ssd)
But, to be frank, I'm not interested in the ssd at all. Although I understand the benefits, I'm not too concerned about them and don't value the extra few seconds I can save. So, if you're interested and willing to wait til spring/summer, you can be my first customer. |

since there's seems to be some people who really know about computers, I was tempted to ask some questions. But i don't wanna hijack the OP's thread.
Perhaps there should be a PC building/upgrading thread. |

As was I!
There's been quite a few posts asking about what to put in new builds that I thought it would be good to have an ongoing thread called something like, 'PC building in Korea'......
I'd separate the recommended builds into three catagories. Sub-600,000 entry level builds......... Sub-1,000,000 gamer on a budget builds..........and then 1,000,000 plus power user builds. |

Tip no.1...for the building forum..dont screw in the heat sink holder upside down and create a short with its metal arms thus frying ur mobo like i did last week luckily only 35k for a replacement second hand 775 board but still...alot of wasted hours.
im actually shocked how cheap 2nd hand stuff is in yongsan...35k for gigabyte p35 775 board...42k for 8600gt...just need a decent dual/quadcore 775 chip and u can play most games at decent res/detail.
i reckon u could build an adequate gaming rig for 250k (without screen) if using those 2nd hand bits n bobs! |

That would be a great category for the PC build thread....The how-low-can-you-go build, where you scour the darkest corners of Yongsan for the cheapest used parts and put together a machine with decent FPS......it would even be funner if it was seen as a test of your overclocking skills to have a PC which cost about 250k to put together which can play Crysis! |

Hey, let's start that Pc building thread, and hopefully make it a sticky. Have any ideas on an intro?
A thread to unite all the geeks' knowledge about tech and know how! |

I can start the thread later tonight when I have some time.
The idea would be to just ask for recommended components and show their price in Korea.
Also, people could list what they're using now. Strengths and weaknesses, benchmarks, cost etc.
Any poster can recommend a full build or just comment on components.
If the thread slips off the first page or just runs out of steam then we could always bring it back when there are new components to talk about. |
