Seriously..... Are things really this bad? 45-48 working hours a week camp. 3 weeks for only 800,000won? 45x3=135hours. 800,000Won/135 hours is 5929 won per hour. Add in the horrible exchange rate and you have a job that pays less than minimum wage in America. Why doesnt immigration just go ahead and open up the E-2 working conditions. We would get more money working at E-mart. Is anyone seriously considering taking this?

A friend of mine told me that this offer includes airfare......
Good deal if your a student and want to fly to Asia,
work your tail off for a month for a plane ticket and
below minimum wage????? I really need to organize a camp.
Take advantage of the slave labor from the west.

Someone should accept this job to pay for the flight, and ditch the contract. How else will they learn?

Wow, thats just horrible!!

I can't see why anyone would want to do that camp. Unless of course they have cash flow problems.

Horribble.. horrible horrible!!!

nice pay Smile

I know people who have to work camps for their hagwons and they don't get a single won extra for it.

My school pays an extra 1.35million for doing 3 * 40 minute classes extra each day for 4 weeks. Despite not actually getting anywhere near my working hours limit before hitting overtime in my normal shift they still pay me all the money as they are getting extra from the parents for these classes os they reward us for doing them.

That's 40 hours extra work for the month which works out at almost 34,000 an hour (22,500 a class). I'm sure others are makiing much more than this for camps so why would anyone sign up to a school that either doesn't pay you for it or that pays you so badly to work those horrible contracts.

I can't believe there are so many negative comments about this camp. Sad

I have worked at this camp before and had an AMAZING experience! Sure, the pay was not the best, but flight (round trip with flexible return date), food, and accommodation was included. I took advantage of the flight and traveled all over Korea after camp.

Some teachers who were from Korea got paid a lot more than the advertised job posting / teachers who were flying in.

The recruiter was very helpful and was always there to help me if I had any questions about work visa.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to do some teaching and traveling in Korea but cannot commit to a 1 year contract.

This is a pretty reasonable camp. I plan on returning again. Razz
