Looks like some people will defend anyone and anything. I suppose there is some merit in saying that laws against this sort of thing are overly strict, and that some one needs to defend disgusting amoral people, I'm just glad it's not me. I'm sure that that 14 year old will lead a great life and never have issues from having sex with his mom. |
That's all that was said. The rest of your adolescent dross is irrelevant therefore |

That depends. If the boy were given up for adoption as an infant or shortly thereafter, this would be incest in only the biological sense of the word, not in the psychodynamic and would thus be devoid of all its Freudian trappings. |

Bacasper, how aboutta guy banging his Labrador Retriever? You cool with that?
(For the record, I don't own a dog. If I did have to bang a dog, though, in my ignorance I guess that would be the breed I would select. Perhaps other varieties are sexual wunderkinds, I dunno.) |

Yeah, but very act of saying it, and some people who consistently defend the same sorts of people, is more what I was referring to. There is also a difference between saying overly strict, and wanting to reduce a nine year sentence to a 9 week one. |

That is an interesting point. I suppose it would also somewhat depend on why the mother was sexually attracted to the son, meaning if she just found him an exceptionally attractive 14 year old, or if the idea that he was her son got her going. |

According to Australian philosopher Peter Singer writing in Heavy Petting:
| Quote: |
| Based on twentieth-century court records in Austria where bestiality was regularly prosecuted, rural men are most likely to have vaginal intercourse with cows and calves, less frequently with mares, foals and goats and only rarely with sheep or pigs. |
Sorry, no mention of Labs.

OK, but now you are dealing only with the mother's psyche and not the son's. |

Why wouldn't you pick a Long-Haired Collie? What's wrong with the Collie? |

As I suspected, she had given up the boy when he was only days old. Thus they were mother and son only biologically. |

Liberals around the world rejoice.....your open-mindness has reached the point of, "incest is okay." I would go a step further than, "gross." I would say if you believe incest is okay then you are, " a sick f***!"
Your parents must be very proud of you. |

| Libertarians are not liberals really. More right wing then left. As a libertarian leaning fellow myself, I would say that incest is absolutely disgusting. I am just not sure I would be sending people to jail for the rest of their lives for it, or any other consentual sex thing. |

There is a specific term for the phenomenon that biologically related individuals get sexually attracted to each other. I think its called "Genetic sexual attraction"
There are many cases in the world, one of the latest I can recall is the 26 year old American young man fell in love with his never-met-before grandma. |

Genetic sexual attraction usually only manifests between relatives who have had little or no previous contact.
OTOH, the Westermarck effect describes the phenomenon of those living in close proximity during the first few years of life of either failing to develop a sexual attraction. |

There is a lot of misunderstanding on this issue. Incest will have a negative effect only if the 2 people involved are carrying a defective gene for some kind some of disease or disorder. Contrary to this- if the couple involved have a healthy DNA and are void of disease the child will be healthy - maybe healthier than the average person. the problem with incest is that the chances of a defective gene "popping up" in offspring increases because the parents have the same DNA or almost the same. If its there - it will come out. If its there and a person has sex with a non relative it is far less likely to surface.
More or less - it is like this.
Most people have a more incestuous family tree than they realize if they actually researched it. |

We all have defective genes. It's a matter of how strong those genes are. If incest continues for a long period of time those genes inevitably rise to the top (see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_II_of_Spain.) |
