i'm currently teaching english.

but my korean friend offered me a bartending job at this bar.

is it ok? any legal problems?

If your on a E-2 you can not do it. It you are on a F-Series (Married to Korean or Gyopo) type go right ahead. And forget about asking permission from immigration. Immigration will only give permission for some volunteer and working at other schools (sometimes).

You can try and do it illegally. You will likely get away with it. But you will have no protections. I have seen a few foreigners help friends tend bar.

It's pretty common at Gyeonggi foreigner bars, can't speak for elsewhere.
