It is possible that I will never be earning enough money back in England to have to pay back my student loans - I don't care either.
My career plans do not involve permanent residence back home.
As it is, I am currently paying off my overdraft of 2000 - This should be done in 6 months with minimal effort.
After that I will invest my savings into my future career.
If I ever DO move back home and I AM earning enough to have to pay back my loans then fine. It is just highly improbable. |

Waiting tables, and briefly working as teller at a bank for around a month.
No Korean job could be worse than the latter. I'd take Kindy startup hagwons with crappy contracts over working at a bank in a heartbeat. My god that was a horrible job. Waiting tables, while it makes you smell like food all the time and you're nothing more than a servant, was mostly laid back and had some positives. Banks... *shudder* |

And now you are in Korea. That was a great investment on their part. This is why Britain is bankrupt. |

I happen to be debt free too. Except my case is thanks to wonderful, talented parents and my own ability to get a high paying job in college. |

This is where I insert the post that says
anyone who pays back their student loans is a sucker
and the student loan debate goes for yet another round. |

You could live well in Korea and pay that off in about two years, maybe a bit longer.
One of my friends has $100,000, on the other hand... |

I was tempted to say it, but didn't want to get flamed.

You've only paid off $17,000 in three years? Jeeze, you must spend even more than me. |

Depends on his interest rate. But at this rate it'll be another 9 yrs or less before he pays the rest. |

I think I owe somewhere in the 40k region. I went to a state university, though and was married so I didn't have to take out loans for room & board Just worked my arse off at the same time.
I have additional deferment on my loans on account of being poor. It's tough enough trying to fight through my CC debt. I don't even want to think about my student loan payments I'll be making in a year or so. |

Man, you guys went to some really cheap schools or got off lucky.
My college currently charges over $50,000 per year ($40,000 tuition and $13,000 room and board). My law school charges $75,000 per year to attend (tuition plus living expenses).
So the current market cost of my education is $430,000+! |
Why don't you sell one of your 16 super expensive cars to pay off your loans? You love making sure people know that everything you do is big money. |
