Its usually easy repetitive work, good for newbie's to get their bearings in the country. Would recommend a shorter contract if possible as the work can get monotonus. Owned by Herald Media I think and they're ok. Other EVs by YBM might be better. Ansan is quite far from Seoul, maybe 90 minutes by train. Might be nice if you'd like to visit the coast and the scenery around there. Some universities nearby so probably a reasonable nightlife area |

Thanks you say it's repetitive work. What does it entail? |

I think they are run by the SDA. So I would expect tighter restrictions on what you can do. |

When did you work there? What was the normal work week? How big were your classes? How many students per class? How many hours per week? How many classes? Did you have to make up your own lesson plans? Were the textbooks provided to you? Did you get your full benefits? Were you paid on time? When you left did you get the flight reimbursed? All of these are questions normal teachers would ask. |

I spent a month and a half in Ansan this summer. Quite a few people made the first move to say hello: little kids at the movie theater, Lotte Mart shoppers, workers at the nearby Family Mart, restaurant patrons ... I really really enjoyed it there. People were either friendly or indifferent. I didn't catch any attitude from anyone about anything no matter the situation. If I could find the right job, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.
FWIW, it is much further from Seoul than the map suggests. |

I live in Sanbon and it's about 50 minutes to Itae or Hongdae, and it's a good thirty minutes from here to Ansan, so I'd guess close to an hour and a half. What's the bus situation? |

I think it's about an hour and a half too, give or take a few depending on the stop. Seeing it only 20 miles away on the map, I expected it to be a quicker trip. However, the subway isn't the worse place to be stuck for that amount of time. Not at all.
There are some very savvy people out there when it comes to bus/subway combos. I never tried it, but I'm sure you could shave 5-20 minutes off if you didn't mind walking a few blocks to transfer once or twice. I'm sure there are a few masterminds out there who would love to share that info with you. |

I don't know if its the same one, but when visiting Daebu Island (Ansan) this summer, there was an English Village. It was in the middle of nowhere.
Which is great if you like that kind of thing, but there were no subways and a rocky bus ride across an island with terrible roads. It took me about two hours from Gojan station, although there might be a quicker route?
There may be another English Village in Ansan that I am unaware of, but this one was literally up the side of a mountain. This village is technically in Ansan City, (which I actually quite like) but the english village is actually very, very rural. |

Actually I just met a couple that quit working at English Village Ansan as they were being bussed around to different English Villages and having to spend different days of the week in different apartments. Apparently there wasn't enough students to fill their schedule so they were run all over Gyeongi-do and hated it. |
