Anyone know when this movie is coming to Korea and where (if possible) it will play? I saw the movie poster on a bus earlier this week and am looking forward to its release! |

Ok, the plot of this movie seems a bit thinner than the 1st one which I absolutely loved but may be worth a go:
Don't want to give away too much about the first one, but in the second one, the survivor of the last Battle Royale program has become hell bent on destroying the government responsible for the program that he was forced into, where he had to kill off each and every one of his classmates. So, he and his followers are hiding out on this island. In Battle Royale 2, the middle school kids sent to the island are sent off to not kill each other, but Shuya Nanahara (did I mention this is a Japanese film?) and his group. Oh, and they are linked up as partners in a way so that if one dies during the battle royale, the other is killed off too.
I really really really really liked the first movie. Really liked it. It wasn't just about bloodshed and gore, but a real interesting psychological study about what you would do if you found yourself in this situation.
I'm thinking the movie *will* definitely not be as good as the first one, but hope that when it does come out, it'll be in that mythical movie theater in Seoul I have heard about, the one that shows Korean (and hopefully Japanese films) with subtitles. Eiher that or I will wait for a time when I can get down to Yongsan and buy the movie as was suggested. |

I've been looking for Battle Royale (1) on DVD, any idea where I can get it? The Yongsan dudes have 2, but said 1 is old, so no dice. |

BR1 is available legally, in a "director's cut" editon (more logical than the original theatrical edition) with English subs.
www.yesasia.com
You can find it in at least one of the legal shops around there.

Yeah, can anyone help us out? I KNOW I have heard of a movie theater in Seoul that shows non-English language movies with subtitles. |

Is it in English? The last time I asked about the movie the bootlegger guys said it was spoken Japanese with Korean subtitles.
Maybe I should head on back to Yongsan and pick up my "back-up" copy. |

Good point. My School of Rock CD shows the movie fine, but I can't access any of the special features in it, probably cause it is a burned CD. |

OK...I have heard that there was a theater that showed Korean movies with English subtitles. So I was hoping that maybe maybe...just maybe they would use that same theater to show Battle Royale 2, as maybe it would draw the same kind of crowd. It's a long shot, but I'd be happy if it were true. |
