I support the illegal driving of scooters on sidewalks because if I get hit it probably won't be enough to kill or cripple me but I can get a week off of work to heal and a fat white envelope.

Well, OP, here's what you could have said to the woman:

"Where is the road?"

"Excuse me?"

"where is the road?"

"Well, they say masturbation makes you blind. So telling you to go ---- yourself would be kind of redundant. Good day, madam."

I know for a fact...knowing my attitude....if I saw you driving on the sidewalk and I confronted you and you told me to f off....one of us would be in jail and the other in the hospital. Simple as that.
The rules of society apply to all...not just those of you who think "I am better than you" and can do what I want.
You sure as heck would not drive on the sidewalk in your own country.
It has nothing to do about racism. It has to do with boneheads and idiots who don't like to be confronted on their wrong doings.

All right tough guy. How about just minding your own business on the street?. This isn't your country. It isn't mine either. But the rules are different here.

Do you confront people when you smell cigarette smoke? I bet whatever country you're from you can't smoke anywhere.

Learn the rules of the game man. You're in a different country ffs.

Now you're being a factious wise azz...I know your folks raised you better....so don't talk out your butt....tough guy I am not....I just don't back down and will say something.....one who sees "wrong doing" and does nothing is just as bad as the person doing wrong.
Some folks get involved and others don't....it's a choice.
Confronting smokers? How do you equate the two? Smoker vs some idiot driving on the sidewalk? Korean law does NOT permit driving on the sidewalk....cops just don't care for one and of course, korea is full of uneducated people who think the rules of society don't apply to them.

It's a perfect analogy. But I'll explain it for you:

People in the U.S. for instance go all crazy if someone smokes near them or accidentally smokes too close to a door or lights up where they're not supposed to light up. I've even seen Americans get pissed off in Spain in a terrace where people were smoking, because they think second hand smoke is going to kill them. You never see a Spaniard (or Korean) for that matter flinch when someone is smoking near them, that's just how it is in Spain and here in Korea. Same thing with the g'damn scooters on the sidewalk and street. The locals don't give a flying f.

So when these anglosaxon douche bags start complaining about scooters on the sidewalk, to me it's the same as someone in a Spanish terrace raising a hissy fit about the smoke. Really?

Deal with it, that's how the country is and stop trying to apply your safety criteria, which has absolutely no factual basis, to another country.

People with this kind of attitude never thrive in a country. Never.

Same kind of people who feel offended that in Korea no one says "bless you" when you sneeze or get surprised by it. Get over it, Jesus.

It's the same kind of people that did homestays when I first studied abroad and they start bitching to the program director about how uncomfortable their homestays were because of things they weren't used to.

Really? Stay the f home, already or learn how to adapt.

The problem isn't the motorists breaking the laws, the problem is that the laws aren't, and can't be enforced because rather than shelling out tax dollars for proper bike parking facilities, (or at least removing the rusting, immobile junkers out of the current ones) Korea has opted to simply allow and encourage bikers to park on the sidewalk, despite actual written laws to the contrary.

Don't blame the bikers who are only doing what's expected of them.

WTF does a dog on a leash add to this story? Shocked
Anyway, I would've told the woman that no I didn't know where the road was, but I did know where my a$$ was so she could kiss it, stuck my middle finger up at her man, then pat the dog on the head and blow a kiss as I walked away.

But if you were walking on the sidewalk like you're supposed to, they wouldn't have said anything. I do not understand your speak.

I'm not going to bother with the whole thread, but as a bike rider, I friigggin hate it when scooters ride on the bike path. It's a BIKE path (also to be used for people walking). Stay on the godddamn road.

If someone is biking down the middle of the road, I bet a bunch of car drivers would get pissed off, no? So why doesn't it also apply in reverse?

Bottom line, scooters who ride on bike paths are dicks.

No, tight-ass nerds who go around the internet and make snarky comments at anything that doesn't fit in with their little realities are dicks.

PS, my offer's still open.

I hate older western couples who scold. I have met a few in my time and what a bunch of high and mighty's.

In saying that, the breeders here who agree with them just want to protect their spawn. You must understand that the egg baby was brewing for 9 months and they want to get their moneys worth. Some young punk threatening their offspring brings out the crazy in parents.

I was tsked at on the subway by an old white cow a few months ago. It made me feel like I was 'letting the team down.'
I simply had enough. As my stop came closer I rolled down my muumuu, stood up and tipped my fedora at her.
'Good day to you' says I, and I swept off the subway.

There's no point lowering one's self.

So what did I say that was wrong? Bike paths = bikes, sidewalk = pedestrians, road = cars. How is this hard to grasp?

The offer was for a boxing match.

I happen to love it when scooters go on bike paths. I think it's exciting and fantastic and guess what, there's nothing you can do about it.

Snobs they are. OP, you met a snob who thought you were Korean. I can't count how many times I've seen snobs acting rude to both Koreans and other Westerners.
