I live in a rural part of Gyeonggi-do where you can get NOWHERE fast. I spend a lot of time reading on bus rides (no rail) so I was considering buying a tablet computer (I was all over the KT Identity Tab thread:http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=190503 last week) to keep myself busy, plus it would be nice to be able to check internet while I'm in the city.
So I'm thinkig of buying an Amazon Kindle (3G Global) and iPod Touch (32GB - I need an mp3 player).
However, the price of those together is more than the Black Friday (or refurbished price) for an iPad. An iPad would seem to offer 85% of the options that I want with a Kindle (reading) and iPod (movies, apps). The only drawback is that I couldnt exercise with it (easily at least).
I would like a device that I could keep myself busy with while I'm waiting to get somewhere.
Do you think I should go for the iPad instead? |

Buy the ipad and a nano. That way you can still listen to music easily. If you're planning on buying a refurbished ipad, then buy an older refurbished nano also. The earlier version should also play videos and radio. |

I originally had a Kindle in July, then they announced the new Kindle. I returned it, thought about it...and plunged for a iPad. I'm happy I did, but if you just want to read books, the Kindle does what it does best. The battery lasts for days without a recharge, and the screen is 10x better then the iPad for reading books (much easier on the eyes).
I switched to the iPad since the Kindle is not too good with reading PDFs, zooming, etc. And the MP3 feature on the Kindle is pretty weak since it just plays everything randomly. Can't speak for internet though. I got a WiFi version, but I have enough apps and books on there for me not to worry about internet access. |

find a korean and get a galaxy s or iphone and get a kindle. that's what I did!
if you're set on ipad vs ipod+kindle, get the ipad. it's just a better investment. |
