I don't think that Skylife is so cool. So you get a lot of Korean movie channels....
I get a slew of movie channels, AFN as well as StarWorld. That's pretty much all I need here. By the way, AFN is great because you get to watch things like the Super Bowl and March Madness. It is a great option here and you should appreciate having it. |

I have skylife, there are a few channels more you get but it varies by your location.
I do not get arirang(no loss)
the english channels that you do get are not always in english alot of the time they show korean shows.
Bonuses: CNN(good to find out what is going on in the real world)
Fashion channel, sometimes shows Friends and Dharma and Greg
Food channel, That british guy Jamie always good for a laugh
OCN, Q channel (survivor, cheaters), animal planet always English, National geographic channel almost always dubbed over in korean.
many other tv channels sometimes english sometimes german sometimes russian?
Bunch of music channels playing crap for the most part.
Is it worth it>? I think so....even if its just for the cheesy softcore pornography on every night between about 2AM-6AM
WACK ON I SAY!!! WACK OFF!!! |

I've seen a lot of complaints here about the price of Sky Life compared to cable TV. Well, I had cable TV, with Catch On*, and was paying around KW 22,000. I now have Sky Life, Catch On* included, and am paying
KW 23,500. For the additional KW 1,500 I have:
-The ability to scroll through and see what will be playing later; great for sports if I want to know which teams will be playing.
-Pay-per-view which costs about the same as renting a video (1,000 to 1,500 a movie).
-40 satellite radio stations
-20 movie channels
Having spoken to Sky Life central office in English, I learned that when you move you take the set top box with you to your new flat, call Sky Life, and the installation fee is around KW 30,000 less.
So, which one will you pick? It all depends on what you want. |

I had basic Skylife for 14000 per month and it was not very good.
I would suggest going with cable.
Sky life has very little to do with what is up in the sky. It is mostly Korean programming.
The NG channel is dubbed in Korean. I passed that one up everytime. It's that same guy too- he dubs everything.
There was one Japanese station, NHK1, whoopity doo!
You can get better international programming in a cheap Chinese motel.
Don't waste your money on Skylife.
oh yeah, there was one highlight. On Sunday nights at midnight there was a dude from New York with a show about alternative sexual lifestyles on the Travel and Leisure channel.
And sometimes I enjoyed the morons on Jerry Springer. |

I love Skylife and here's why: In Kyongju, you can't get channels like Catch On, MGM, and others without paying 150,000 up front for some decoder or something and after that your monthly bill runs about 25,000. With Skylife we got the three year contract deal with no equipment cost and 3000 won extra on the bill. The monthly fee runs about 25,000. We have the family package plus Catch On.
Also, Skylife has The Cartoon Network, all in English so I can watch old episodes of Popeye as well as the Clone Wars shorts.

I have it, because it has star sport which I can't get on cable in my town. I used to like Adventure one before it disapeared. If it wasn't star sport I wouldn't have it. |

Adventure one should have been more correctly named...Endless repeats! |
