It's a remedy recommended by lots of Chinese.

I dont care anyone who laugh at my effort of trying to help OP.

I study western medicine myself and I did research on Propecia a while ago, Propecia has its side effects and it takes usually 3 months to take effect, and once you stop taking it, your hair loss will go back to the original condition within a year.

Ginger and other herbals and acupuncture are believed to help improve the blood crculation in your scalp and thus nurture the hair follicle. (Please keep in mind it doesnt controvert the DHT induced male pattern boldness theory)

Propecia and Minoxidil can help slow down hair loss, but don't expect miracles. But Minoxidil can have a bad side effect: when I gave it a shot, I'd wake up in the middle of the night, scratching my head. Because of the alcohol that's added, my scalp was always red - itched like a son of a ____, and I had to stop using it. (Plus, I was losing my hair front and back. Minoxidil is for back hair loss only, I believe.)

Other than those two drugs, there's no miracle drug; it would be front-page news. And I wouldn't bother with a transplant. A lot of the transplants do not look good. So if a rich celebrity, who can afford the best surgeon, can't get a descent transplant, think about Mr. Average Joe English Teacher?

It's all good to shave your head and accept it, unless you have a horribly scarred scalp which would render you a social monster, like me. I'm pretty hot with hair, though.
Still, baldness is slowly getting to me, aged 23. Only just starting but the transition is probably smooth and consistent. The next decade should be fun.

cant picture myself living without my hair. I'd probably go straight to transplant. I'd drop 10~15k, whatever it takes.

Walking around without my hair to me would feel like walking around with no arm or something.

eh I'm a black guy with a perfectly shaped head. I shave my head and I look damn good with a shaven head lol.

I started losing my hair as a teenager with a receding hairline at about age 15 or so. It sucks but hey at least I've been told that my hair loss pattern is considered to be distinguished. yeah I laughed at that one haha.

I don't know what I'd do if I looked ugly with a shaven head. I haven't been to a barber since I started college years ago. I've saved so much money by cutting my own hair and by rarely ever using shampoo or conditioner cause when it's shaven I just use lotion and I'm good!

I grow more hair on my face than on my head and it grows hella fast too! I hope the Koreans can handle my facial hair when I get there next week!

Well anyways, if you're losing your hair don't feel bad. You're not the only one!!!

Propecia and minoxidil (rogaine) are great products which have helped me maintain my hair for these past six years. I even regrew some hair in the crown, and my hair thickened slightly on the hairline. If you are still working with hair, as you are, then look into dermmatch, which is a concealer. Honestly, it is a miracle product that works AMAZINGLY well.

Also, hair transplants are worth taking a look at. *Warning: do not go to chop shops like Bosley, or any other company that focuses more on advertising than medicine. * Go to a good doctor, assuming you have decent donor density, and they can do great things these days. It's not the 1980's anymore. I know of two HT doctors in Thailand which are internationally recognized and can give you the same quality for 1/3 the price. Go over to a hairloss forum and read up. Don't take your advice on this subject from Dave's.

These days you certainly don't have to accept being bald.

Dude, stay off the drugs, plugs and rugs. They are all bad news!

Accept your destiny, shave your head and move on with your life and more important issues.

Propecia and minoxidal lower your sex drive and are potentially dangerous long term.I'd prefer to be a man and have my libido rather than be a virtual eunuch with beautiful hair.

Hair transplants are painful, expensive and will leave a nasty scar in your "donor area" which will become very prominent if you continue losing hair and decide to shave your head or go completely bald in the future.

Hair ain't nothing in the end.Sounds like you need a good ego boost. Try this amazing site www.slybaldguys.com and welcome to the beautiful, bald brotherhood. We are here for you dude!

I started going bald at 21 and now at 36 I shave my head down to the scalp 3 or 4 times a week.I love the look and the ladies love it too.I have a beautiful gf who loves me for me and who loves my look also. When I actually had a full head of hair, I couldn't get a date.

It's all about confidence and being sure of yourself and who you are.Women love that!!

Go sly my friend and embrace your future. You owe it to yourself!

Good luck!

at the top of the head you can take rogain or propecia and it is pretty effective. But if it is in the front near your temples, then it won't work. You have to get laser micro grafting plugs. I hear they are so natural that even doctors cant tell it has been done. It aint cheap. Around 10K. Korea has some of the best doctors in the world for it. It's up to you. I'd just shave my head. One less thing to worry about.

I'd rather date a guy who got this ridiculous-sounding procedure than someone who just gave up and started shaving it all off.

I'm still young though. Maybe when I get old enough that a large portion of my dating pool is balding, I'll change my mind.

Honey, you ain't even worth a bald man's time! Shaving it off isn't about "giving up" it's about accepting your fate and getting on with your life and worrying about real things. Any woman that cares about a man's hair/head isn't worth the trouble anyway. Yawn.....we are all about the hotties!! Cool

I've been on propecia/minox for 6 years and I have had zero side-effects. I assure you my libido is the same as always. The side-effects you are describing are rare, and usually subside with continued treatment. Wanting to keep your hair does not equate to low self-esteem either. As with most things in life, you do not have to "accept your destiny" and be a bald man for eternity. The surgery is a lot cheaper if you go to Thailand, etc. With decent donor density you should have enough to cover your entire head in the future, given that your doctor is not overly agressive, which a good doctor will not be.

If any hair growth remedy worked...it would be on the national news in every country! It would be on the front page of newspapers. The person who comes up with a hair growth solution will be the riches person in the world...bar none.
So..this business about some chinese remedy....is like most other things chinese things...not very reliable.
Sure....a few products slow hair loss and a few seem to induce hair growth....but there are many mitigating factors to be considered first.....bottom line, no product or remedy is yet available that will make hair grow from a person that has a receding hair line or bald.
Only people who are insecure about themself worry about hair loss.
I'll go one step more.....if a guy who has hair loss is worried about what women will think or women won't date him because of hair loss of being bald....all I can say is, she can't be much of a catch if she is that vain or concerned about a man being bald! Besides...plenty of mature women out their could care less about hair...they are more concerned about other things a guy has to offer....

You're right, if there was a magic cure for baldness it would be well known. Rogaine does in fact regrow hair in a high percentage of men, including myself. Will it give you the hairline you had at 17? No, but it can regrow some hair and most importantly it helps to maintain your hair. When you start to notice thinning is when to start, not after you're already bald. The simple truth is that most people look and feel better with hair than without. There is no shame in taking steps to keep your hair.

Women seek men with healthy, full hair because it is a sign of a robust mate. Men seek women with healthy, full hair for the same reason.

And women who are looking for a mate and claim to not care about baldness have merely accepted their target range. They're at peace with an inability to score the perfect mate. Young, beautiful women most certainly do care about hair. Seeking health and robustness in a mate is an evolutionary strategy.

lol....a complete crock. I've bagged plenty of hot chicks since I went bald.Believe it or not, there are plenty of attractive women out there wholove a shaved head. I've met plenty of them.

Women want a confident,strong self-assured man,hair or not.

I'm a bald robust man.I work out daily, eat healthy and am a tiger in the sack.If a woman I meet doesn't like me for my shaved head,so be it.She's not the type of person I'd want to be with anyway.

+1. D-man, I believe that you can still get hot chicks in the sack without your hair. However, you could do just as well or better with your hair. I've heard many of my ex-gf's friends make un-flattering comments about balding men. In truth, most women, even if they date bald men, would prefer that they had their hair if given the choice. With how easy it is to keep you hair these days no one should be telling someone who wants to keep their hair to give up and embrace baldness. That's a deeply personal choice. The mere fact that being bald could be a point of contention is proof enough. No woman is going to say "I don't like him because his hair is too thick."

Seconded. I'd rather not be bald at the ripe old age of 24. This is like someone saying I shouldn't have taken accutane either, instead accepting my fate.
