I have to leave my contract early because of family reasons. The school has been understanding about it. They said my last pay check will come on payday, but I have to leave before that. I know I should stick around, but that is the way it has to be. Is there anything I can do from America if they do not pay? |

Unless you have friends here who can lodge a claim at the labor office on your behalf you would be screwed.

If the owner is a decent, stand up person, you'll be paid. But the fact that you are asking on this site leads me to think that the owner will screw you over.
It's 50/50 and if no money is forthcoming, just chock it up as experience. |

I wouldn't even give him 50/50 odds. He may get paid but I think that there's a much greater chance that either he won't get paid at all, or there will be some major deductions from his last salary. |

I'm assuming there'll be someone in Korea to send you the money as well, yes?
it's not going to transfer by itself ...
unless you told them to wire it to your bank account back home ... that'll be interesting |

why don't you link your existing account to one of those KEB accounts? (overseas wiring account) as soon as you deposit funds into it, the money automatically transfers to your overseas account wherever you may need that to be. thus, you go on-line in your home country and transfer whatever funds were deposited to your KEB acc...and VOI LA!! you have your money... in 24 hours! |
