Technically all of them are (at least the underground ones are.)
But really, would you want to be in there with 50,000 other people that live near that subway station down there as well? People forget how densely packed Seoul is. And thousands of panicked Koreans are going to be running for the subway. There will probably more trampling and suffocations deaths than civilian deaths from any bombing. |

Eh? It doesn't get that cold underground. A lot warmer than it would be on the streets anyway. Especially with 50,000 of your neighbours to keep you warm. |

Except one well placed bomb through the skylight and it's game over for the central part of the station. |

And what's with all this evacuation talk recently? You make it sound like we're at war or something. |

Thats a JOKE. The REPORTER thinks that subway stations are bomb shelters/shelters.
ONE: The chemicals released from bombs will sink down into the subway air flow system.
TWO: With electricity cut off, the air flow system will not work and there will be no lighting, fresh air, etc.
THREE: Each subway station ONLY has approx. 10 gas masks stored in glass cabinets (How can 50,000 people share 10 gas masks)?
FOUR: SOS emergency telephones on located on the subway-platform to notify the subway staff about subway accidents etc, they won't be much use during missile attacks from the North.
FIVE: The maintenance area for subway stations are usually located almost on ground level (just below the footpaths) and the machinery to provide clean air needs electricity to run and are not bomb proof.
The REPORTER who wrote that article seems to be missing a few screws upstairs. |
