Is there any way to do it legally?
I would love to be able to claim these as taxable earnings for my Roth IRA so I can contribute to it. |

You need to give Immigration written permission from your employer who is sponsoring your E-2 visa |

If you are on an E2 the answer is a simple and unequivocal "NO, there is NO way to do it legally."
The best you could hope for (to be legal) would be to workout a deal with your boss whereby you teach them in the hakwon (and it is presumed that your boss would take a chunk as "rent").
If you are on an F2/4/5 then it is a different matter and you should be aware of board policy on the matter:
