|
|
I know this is a question that has probably been asked many times! I am wonderingabout different ways to get out of a contract and remain in Korea as I am tired of working 50 hours a week and am getting worn out. My girlfriend is here now and I want to stay but need to get out of my job in a couple months or I will go crazy! How can a person do this- is this possible? I will have a place to stay but need a job where I am not run into the ground. |

quit..get a release...find new work with better conditions.
Not complicated.
Or quit/resign, leave Korea (visa run) and come back, look for new job. |

Resign, leave and come back on a tourist visa and then find a job that suits you. |

And with that brilliant advice, how do you suggest they get another work visa? |

A release is rather dependent on the willingness of your employer.
Could be complicated. |

That is true Zed.
You just have to stick to your guns usually it will work out.
If not the person will have to find alternative ways of finding new work. |

Ah Tokki...my friend...please read my posts before posting your automatic pilot response...
Didn't say getting an LOR was always easy. I said it was usually possible if the teacher sticks to his or her guns (in the case of a bad employer).
Thanks for playing anyway muscleboy. |

And the fact that getting one is difficult in the first place is what makes it a (near)slave-visa. |

Slave-visa....Not really tokki...but hey you go ahead and believe that along with the fact that you are "oppressed" here and in "danger".
Nothing I can say here will make you look at things as they are since you insist on seeing yourself as a "near-slave"...some waeguks here have no clue what the words they use actually mean. |

Hey, I got the F2-1. So the E2 is a long forgotten episode in my life. I have freed myself, you are a slave living in denial. |

This makes no sense. You still need an E2 visa and letter of release if you wish to work again while during the period the current E2 is in place. The difference being that you don't have to leave the country 14 days after an employer decides to withdraw sponsorship.
That said, getting a new E2 visa isn't that big of a deal when a person has everything organized for dealing with Immigration rather than pretending to not know anything. |
