I have a 5 month old Korean 16gb iPhone 3gs. I am looking for someone to take over my contract.

I also just bought my favorite brand case, the iSkin rEvo. I use this brand for all my Apple products and it is VERY reliable.

There is currently about 1 year and 6-7 months remaining in the contract. I currently pay 68,000 a month for the ilite plan and the phone payment. If you wany, you can upgrade, but I always use wifi and Kakao Talk so I never go over the text message or data limit.

I live in Seoul near Hyehwa, but could meet the person interested anywhere in Seoul with my wife ( the phone's in her name) and we could change it over there.

If anyone is interested, shoot me a pm.

Thanks!

I'd be interested in taking over but I'm on an E2 visa. Do you think it's possible?

edit: I'll ask my Korean friend to call and ask about it tomorrow.

I think it's possible as long as you have at least 6 months left on your visa. I think that's the case for the iPhone 4. But I am not sure if you have to pay for the phone entirely upfront, or if you can do a contract.

I will also have my wife call tomorrow and get back to you.

Thanks for the reply, and I will update tomorrow with more information. Very Happy

My wife just got off the phone with Show/KT.

They said that E2 visa holders can not take the contract. I am not sure why, since E2s can get contracts for an iPhone 4. Maybe the phone has to be fully paid for upfront, then a month to month contract can be done?

If your friend wants to call and check, then maybe you can get another opinion. It might be like immigration and different stores have different rules.

Anyway, sorry for any inconvenience.

Oops. They just called my wife back and said that they made a mistake. There was some "new rule" that started on November 8 which says that E2 visa holders can have a contract for the iPhone.

They said you need two things to take over the contract.

1) Your ARC
2) something called a 국내거주신고증

I tried to look at Naver for what #2 was, and it appears to be the same thing at the ARC. My wife also couldn't find the English word for it. She said it's a paper that shows you live in Korea (which sounds like the ARC).

If you would still like to take it over, send me a PM and we can arrange a time to meet up. They said that it has to be done at Mia Station (Line 4). There is a big store there I guess(?). I am available any weekday morning until about 11:30.

Hey are you still trying to sell your iphone? I'd be willing to take it off your hands. I would PM you but I'm a fairly new member so I need that 25 post first.

Hello,

I am not trying to sell the phone. I am just looking for someone to take over my contract. I guess it's almost the same thing, but I am in a contract that has about a year and a half left on it.

I have the i-lite plan and pay 68,000 a month for 200 minutes of talking, 300 text messages, and 500 mb data. I never go over my limit and any unused data gets added(rolls over) into the next month. So I currently have 1,000 mb(1gb) of data available.

I bought the new Galaxy Tablet and don't want to pay 2 monthly payments. The phone is in great shape and as I said you get a real nice high quality case unavailable in Korea. I paid $30 for it on Amazon an picked it up when I went home to the US with my wife on a vacation. It's the iSkin rEvo. I use it on my iPod video and iPod touch as well.

If you are still interested send me an email deadhead85 at gmail.com.

Bump.

In order to take over the contract your visa must have at least a year and 5 months remaining.

Send me an email if you are interested. deadhead85 at gmail.com.

Thanks. Very Happy [/b]

No E2 would have a visa with that much time on it. The rules for E2 and iPhone contracts is at least 6 months left on the visa AND a korean credit card.

click the link I put in the last message. It's the actual literature from Show. Those are the rules. F2s, along with a few other visas only need 3 months left on their visa and don't need any credit card.

Ok.My wife JUST called 2 more stores and they said the same thing about having enough time on the visa to finish the contract. I also called the "KT Global Store" in Itaewon. They also said you must have enough time on the visa to cover the contract. That paper is for new subscribers I guess. I told them about the paper and they said it was different then what I am doing.

So again. I am looking for someone who wants to take over my contract who has at least 16ish months left on their visa. You also get a nice case with it and all the accessories and an unused headset.

Thanks in advance!! Very Happy

The only people who get that kind of length is some f-series. No E1,2,or 7 will get a visa that long. You'll have to wait another 4 months before most people here could get on it.
