Hi Folks,

I tried doing some searching, but couldn't find many answers. Like many people, my Korean subtitles are garbled in Windows Media Player. Just a bunch of random nonsense.

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, and I have the language pack installed. I can write in Hangul, it displays perfectly fine on all webpages, etc.

The subtitles work just fine in Gomplayer, but that's not an option for some files.

My 1080p MKV files don't play well with Gomplayer. They stutter in both gomplayer and VLC, but are nice and smooth in windows media player.

So, I want Korean subs to go with my 1080p MKV files and that means I need to somehow get windows media player 12 to display them correctly.

Any thoughts on this?

Try Media Player Classic. I recommend the CCCP pack. Specifically designed for MKV files.

Thanks, I'll try it when I get home. I play a lot of MKV files and the container isn't always handled very well. Add that to the difficulty of getting Korean subs to play and it's a real chore.

Just curious, why do you play a lot of MKV files? I've only run into a few in my time and was always a) confused as to what it was b) glad that my video player handled it.

Most of the HD videos I download are in MKV, especially the 1080p bluray rips.

I'm thinking gomplayer shouldn't be stuttering, I might have a codec issue. I think I have the k-lite codec pack installed, I'm going to get rid of it and see what I can do to try and fix it. I really prefer gomplayer.
